Looking to take the train from Newark Penn Station for Stones concert at Meadowlands.

Connecting at Secaucus Junction. Also looking to book a hotel at the Tryp or Doubletree right by Newark Penn Station. Anyone familiar with that neighborhood as far as safety and walking at night. Looking to avoid driving to Meadowlands.

Or would I be better off staying in the city and taking the train from Penn Station.
