Thought Id post this on the Football side due to the new uniforms yesterday and Louisville's recent contract with Adidas for 8 million a year. Anyone have any idea how much longer, how much our current Nike contract is worth? I did a quick search and didn't see anything so I figured Id take it to the forum.

Where is Syracuse on the Pecking Order In Nike?

In the recently released video on Syracuse Athletics regarding the New Syracuse Jerseys, Nike had very high Praise for Syracuse.

Am I making to much of the Pecking Order Situation?

Something that's not that important?

"Beginning in 2015, #UofL football will have five uniforms "allowing dozens of varying combinations when including helmets."

"Adidas invests in #UofL equipment room expansion, digital technology, spirit squad support and internship program for 20+ UL students."

"Adidas' NCAA rep says goal is "making sure the other 49 states know the Louisville brand."

"Louisville’s $8M/year adidas deal ranks just behind Notre Dame ($9M/year, UA) & Michigan ($8.2M/year, adidas)"

Under armour would be awesome especially given out lax program. The recent notre dame deal was 100 million

SU's non-rev sports pay Nike for their athletic apparel. I'm pretty sure it's actually a pretty bad contract for SU.

It was up in 2011/12. Gross is 100% N*ke.

Under Armour would have been perfect. Damn it.

SU Lax is their Oregon for lacrosse gear, and hoops is one of their core primary programs.

Because of that I'm sure it's a horrible deal and they treat SU with great disdain and disinterest and takes complete advantage, even though SU touts itself as a center of excellent in Sports Management.

I feel Nike is similar to the original iphone, in its day, no competition... But now, android has caught up, let see what "Samsung" can do for us... Adidas, Reebok, UA, can't be worse at this point...

You don't want to switch to another company. For all the talk about recruits and uniforms, you can bet being a Nike school is a huge draw for hoops.

Come on guys, the grass isn't always greener...

As bad as some think our Nike uniforms are (and I don't love them), addidas make horrendous jerseys. While UA makes great under shirts they are a wannabe in the uniform world and try too hard. Reebok isn't even in the discussion.

Maybe you'd prefer Russell Athletic? Or Fila? Puma?

We have it pretty good.

I agree with this Nike may not give us what we want, but the others are just much worse.

Must be my East Coast bias coming to the fore.

cinci started wearing them for the big east tournament as well when they knocked us out. dion was the only player who showed up that game. in person, the red on the cinci uniforms looked like glow sticks to me. like tron uniforms.

Adidas and Under Armour are both garbage and put out real, real embarrassing crap every year.

I do remember that. Cuz I am an East Coast guy, and I was there in the Garden, trying to shade my eyes from those neon adidas things.

Is that Miami of Ohio?

Also nothing can possibly be worse than the Maryland uniforms! nothing!

Why? Do kids think that they look better, or does Nike push SU at their camps or something like that?

Kids want to wear the Melo/Jordan/Lebron/KD/Kobe signature models.

Do you have one kid who acts completely different than another kid? And yet, they are in the same family?

Do NOT equate the talent within the Sport Management realm with the execution on the Athletic end. Don't.
