Class of 2016 Kassoum Yakwe (NY) St John's Grad Transfer to UConn

Kassoum Yakwe, a 6-8 2016 F from Team Scan, has offers from St. John’s, Pitt and Syracuse along with interest from UK, KU, IU and OSU.
Watched him a few times this past season and I really like his game and upside. HS teammate of Cheick Diallo and AAU teammate of Thomas Bryant. I love how St. John's and Indiana are always involved with the same prospects as us, sheesh shaq2.png.

Seems that we have a strong association with Team Scan. With Chris McCullough coming in 2014 and potentially Bryant, Diallo, and Yakwe further down the line things are looking good for Cuse.

Just going to need to invite them to the Dome when SU beats Crean again, and to MSG when we beat the Johnnies for the 23948239487th time in a row.

Maybe it should be considered a form of flattery - follow the leader instead of doing your own work. Then fall on your face when you realize copycatting doesn't land you the prospect - just the leftovers.

Yakwe interested: KU is recruiting Kassoum Yakwe, a 6-7, 200-pound sophomore forward from Our Savior New American High in Centereach, N.Y., Zagsblog.com reports.
Yakwe scored 13 points and grabbed two rebounds in the Jordan Brand Classic international game Friday in New York. He was 2-of-3 from three.
Yakwe, who missed two months of this past season because of a broken hand, told Zagsblog he is also being recruited by Villanova and Syracuse at this early date.

Definitely has a little Jerami Grant in his game. Definitely the type of wing forward that the staff has gone after the last several years. Would seem to be a great fit in the 2016 class (awesome the staff is working so well in advance). I have a tough time believing that MacCullough is one and done with what I've seen, but there's a surprise every year.

Not what I would age expected with us Still hard after Battle and Giles.

We must really have become big fans of Yakwe.

Copycats. Or lazy recruiters.

Both! But we know Crean has a mean late night text game, so that could be the difference.

Oh great - has Tom been thinking about Kassoum a lot - a whole lot?
