I'm tempted to say Best Director as well, but I have a giant bone to pick with Tom Hooper. "Master of the House" is one of my very favorite musical numbers of all time, and the execution in this film was just a pure hatchet job. I didn't like the casting (Sacha Baron Cohen & Helena Bonham Carter), but they probably could have made it work with better direction.

It will also win a shitload of artistic/technical awards, and also sweep the Musical category at the Golden Globes.

Great post Moqui. I grew up in a musical theater family. Les Mis will always have a special place in my heart. JVJ was the first lead I ever had. I was nervous when I heard it was coming out in the box office. All I've heard is it is beyond fantastic. I can't wait for Christmas day!
