Box Score

Game Notes: Staats, Galasso, Wardwell and Brandon Mullins joined Rice on the all-tournament team … For Rice, it was his second conference tournament MVP award. He was also named the BIG EAST Championship's Most Outstanding Player in 2013 … Rice now has 201 career points (87 goals, 114 assists). He is the 16th player in team history to reach the milestone … Defenseman Sean Youngpicked up a career-high five ground balls … All four of the Orange's ACC Tournament games have been decided by one goal … The 29 combined goals by Duke and Syracuse matched the ACC record for the most goals in a tournament final … Coupled with the Orange women's lacrosse team's 9-8 victory over North Carolina, Syracuse became the third school to win the men's and women's lacrosse ACC titles in the same year, joining Virginia (2006) and Maryland (2011).

Reaction, Photos: No. 4 Syracuse 15, No. 6 Duke 14, ACC Championship (IL)

Maybe somewhere Syracuse coach John Desko has concocted a magic elixir that he doesn’t want anyone to know about. You can almost imagine, can’t you? Desko in a darkened film room, with the flicker of the screen bouncing off his face, as his eyes light up marveling over the wealth of riches he’s been afforded this season — one potent offense.

Entering the ACC Championship this weekend at PPL Park in Chester, Pa., the Orange were second in the nation in scoring, averaging 14.92 goals a game, behind Albany’s 17.27. What’s more, Desko seemed to have found the solution to Duke this year. The No. 4 Orange topped the No. 6 Blue Devils 15-14 in an exciting affiar on Sunday..

Behind Rice's Monster Game, Syracuse Claims First ACC Title (LaxMag)

Kevin Rice is going to be sorry to say goodbye to PPL Park, the site of some of his biggest scoring games and now the site of a historic win.

The senior attackman added another monster game in the stadium just outside Philadelphia with three goals and four assists to lead the third-seeded Syracuse men's team to their first ACC tournament championship with a 15-14 win over fourth-seeded Duke on Sunday afternoon. The seven points give him 30 career points in five career games at PPL Park.
