Actually, Michael Lloyd was ahead of him (wrongly IMO) until he had his agent dealings. Best thing for that team was turning it over to Z.

Primary means the first one. If he was in a top 3-4, he was not primary, just a target. He was not a primary target.

I actually feel that the staff only used him as a means to push Battle to commit. I don't get the sense that the staff really was interested in him at all, other than as a decoy. He is nothing like the type of player they have recruited in years!

I am not excited about the idea of him as an SU recruit. And after he lit up the basket by going something like 1-12 from the 3, I was even less enthused. He just does not fit in the system SU runs. He is a square peg in a round hole, and we know how well most of those have gone over the past dozen years.

What "ugh"? We knew that as soon as Battle opened up his commitment he'd be the priority, and that Gilbert was going to decide sooner than later. Not sure what the "ugh" is really for. Once Battle became a realistic possibility again it kind of took Alterique off the table anyway.

I just have this really bad feeling that battle is debating between cuse and duke. With tyus Jones leaving I think duke is a real strong possibility.

Duke wants him at SF, he doesn't want to play the "3".
Lville and Michigan are a long ass way from home and UCONN appears to have landed Alterique Gilbert.

OK, look! Tyus Battle will play at SU. He will announce when he is ready. Let's all have a great weekend and one day when its announced we can come back to this thread.

He's not going back to Mich.

Duke has Thornton and wants him on the wing so, no.

Lville got a visit and no buzz.

UConn? OSU? Whole lot of nothing.

That leaves Syracuse, the team that wants him as a pg.

Sheesh if Duke wants him to play the 3 there's almost no chance he'd go there. I don't think UConn/Ville were threats regardless, although 1 of them will get Gilbert.

It's just a mtter if he wants to re-commit to UM or come here

Bottom line- the only issue now remains the perplexing delay, IMO, since the UM decommit. Those here in the know are basically saying...w/out really saying, that this kid is in the bag.
Well, all that's left at this point is for the kid to pull the trigger.
It's perfectly understandable however, given the UM scenerio, other powerhouse offers on the table, and our sanctions situation- that some folks here are nervous and impatient.
The longer this drags out, the weirder it gets and the more angst on this forum.

I figured I would just change my focus from the Battle commitment and I decided to go out and buy myself an Orange guitar. Problem solved... now I have a new toy to be obsessed with and the Battle drama is moved to the back burner.
