Adams is the one that is surprising me - wonder what the hold up is there?[/QUOTE]
Even when they report to campus they still may be waiting to be cleared by the Ncaa Clearinghouse. That is what happened with Morris and Edouard.

Correct. Judging from those two and others before them, we won't know about any NCAA issues until practice begins.

once again the ncaa demonstrates an ineptitude. we will probably find out sometime in late september. the ncaa is totally dysfunctional. the sooner they get rid of them or seriously streamline them and put jay bilas in charge --the better.

Not to defend the NCAA, but they have to certify every single incoming student-athlete, so those who are relying on final grades or a June SAT/ACT are going to take longer to review. Also, anyone who makes a significant leap in their final year probably goes under a bit more scrutiny.
Of course the NCAA could use some of Emerett's salary to hire enough staff to handle the Clearinghouse.

Hire more staff? That would eat up the gaudy profit margins of this supposedly non profit institution.

Given the fact that Ivan our starting LT also has 72 i would think that Steven is slated for the DL

...I never thought this was in question? Clark's loooooooong been slated to play DT. He was never an OL possibility.

Blair is one of three signees not listed in the online Syracuse student directory. Junior college linebacker Ted Taylor and Connecticut offensive lineman Evan Adams are the others.

Taylor completed his final course at Dodge City (Kan.) Community College two weeks ago and said at the time that he fully expects his paperwork to be approved by the NCAA. Taylor tweeted that he arrived in Syracuse on Saturday.

Adams said he had already received an acceptance letter from SU and clearance from the NCAA in late June. He said he is on campus and is unsure why his name isn't listed online.

Showing up in the directory means a student returned the intent to enroll form, or whatever it's called these days. When SU gets that form, they change the student from admitted to matriculated, so that could be the hold up.

Being admitted, being registered for classes, and being cleared by the NCAA are all separate things.

There's a Ted Taylor listed as a freshman too. Maybe a typo at the registrar?
