Hopkins is getting @Pitt, @Miami, Clemson, UNC, BC, @Wake, @Duke, @Virginia, and ND.

What's will his record be? How well will he coach?

I say 6-3--he beats Miami, Clemson, UNC, BC, Wake and ND.

4-5. Miami, Clemson, BC, Wake.

Is that how it works even though appeal is pending?

I'm thinking 6-3 also, or possibly 5-4. If we are not above .500 in these games then we are in some minor trouble.

0-0 JB will coach them all.

Bold prediction. I think we'll get some scholarship relief but I think they might hold firm on the suspension. No inside knowledge at all - just my gut feeling.

I'm pretty sure Boeheim said he was accepting the 9 game suspension and not appealing that portion of the penalty. The appeal would work to get back scholarships and for Boeheim getting some games restored. Although I can't find any reference to that now so I could be making it up.

Either way, who knows if we'll ever hear back on the status of this appeal before Hop has the chance to coach those 9 games. That said 5-4 would be pretty good in that stretch.

The University has the appeal you are talking about. JB has his own appeal. They are two separate appeals.

Yes, I know that, I guess I just worded it poorly. That's why I said Boeheim's appeal would focus on getting some games restored on his record. If I remember any of this correctly, that note came from one of Andy Katz's video reports around that time. The school's appeal is focused on scholarship restoration and possibly probation years.

I hadn't heard that and would be shocked if that where the case.

If the appeal is still pending, I don't think the suspension is in place.

Here's some proof. I didn't think I conjured this up all on my own. He still wants the ability to coach in practice during the suspension period and that's what he's appealing. Otherwise he's spending basically the whole month of January cooped up in the house.

Likely will not be able to get a good read on Hop in these games because it will still be JB's team, JB's game plan and JB's philosophies

Do you think at some point Coach Hop is going to play man? I'm not so sure.

Does he coach the way he wants to or the way JB want's him to...not sure this will be a good judge of anything.

Yes once he becomes the official head man himself, I think he will throw in some man to man and I think he should.

Hopkins will roll out 40 minutes of swarming man to man full court pressure defense and "greatest show on boards" offense giving significant playing time to well in excess of 6 guys and go 3-6.

Something like this. Not because it is Hop but because we just don't have the horses or depth right now. If we get to .500 in ACC play then that would be a major accomplishment.

Suspension or not, Boeheim will be doing the coaching.

I tend to agree. I hope people don't overreact if it goes like that and think it reflects badly on Hop but I'm sure some will.
