Coaching Carousel

I will be shocked if they don't go after Fleck or Carey. Assuming someone is actually running that rudderless ship

Illinois may want a different strategy being as Tim Beckman came from Toledo as the hot MAC coach flavor of the week.

Could be but this is Illinois we are talking about. Never know with them..

Looks like Tulane will fire HC Curtis Johnson.

Just read that Illinois is considering a 2 year deal for Cubit.

I'm sure the recruits are lining up.

Seriously, what's the point? But from SU's perspective...good.

Might be tough to sell Illinois fans on another western Michigan head coach

Yeah they have no AD, their top choice isn't coming there. So they are apparently considering it. That program is a hot mess

Dan Mullen at MooSU supposedly has a wandering eye for a location better than Starkville, MS. He's from the Northeast. Being mentioned for the Twerps, VPI and us.
VT sounds like a good fit for him.
Sure could be. He's used to the clang of cowbells. But there are a lot of Justin Fuente rumors surrounding VPI.

What’s next?
A number of jobs will open this weekend as regular seasons end. Some schools to keep an eye on for a decision either way are Fresno State, Georgia, Georgia State, Idaho, Indiana, Kent State, Rutgers and Virginia. Schools that have already said their coach will return include Colorado, New Mexico State, Purdue and UTSA. There will also be plenty of assistant coaching changes. Keep track of open assistant jobs here.

Would really like to see June Jones go back to Hawaii. They haven't been the same since he left and if he's on their list it sounds like they have ironed out problems that led to him leaving in the 1st part (Hawaii admin's)

Hawaii: ESPN reported this week that June Jones is the leading candidate for the job, while Tulsa co-defensive coordinator / safeties coach Brian Norwood and Nevada offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Nick Rolovich are also in the mix. Jones is obviously a f

Interesting seeing Harsin on that list. Wonder if there's interest being that Coyle just hired him a short time ago.

He is a Boise alum, played football for Boise, was previously and assistant coach at Boise. Why would he want to leave?
He might not, but it''s not unheard of for a coach to leave his alma mater to coach in a higher conference

Sources: North Texas approaching a hire

Sources told FootballScoop Friday evening the North Texas search is down to TCU offensive coordinator Doug Meacham and North Carolina assistant head coach for offense Seth Littrell.

UNT athletics director Rick Villarreal is expected to interview Meacham on Sunday, and the hope is to have a hire announced by early next week.

TCU played Baylor Friday night, and North Carolina faces N.C. State Saturday afternoon. The Heels have secured a spot opposite Clemson in the ACC Championship on Dec. 5.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.

It hardly matters who coaches North Texas. I'm told that simply due to being in Texas their massive success is inevitable. ;)
