Knicks! (and other NBA action)

Noel is straight defense at this point. His fg% is not good. He doesn't have any real offensive moves.

I'm not saying Smart for Noel is a fair trade, but he's got some work to do.

This is coming from a guy who drafted him in the early rounds of fantasy.

I agree (he's also playing a lot worse with Okafor on the court, for whatever that's worth), but he's still probably a better offensive player than Smart (this isn't saying much) and to me, at least, clearly has way more defensive potential.

Agreed. I think Noel could be great if he ever finds a real role in Philly or if the "process" ships him somewhere with a better fitting team.

It's a different era than when Ben Wallace was playing for Detroit, but I think he could fill that role for a team. In this day and age though, you can't play another big with him who has limited offensive range.

Just as a for instance, since I'm a Knicks fan, i think he'd fit fine with the Knicks. You can play him, Porzingis, and Melo together at the same time since Melo and Porzingis can play on the perimeter. Playing the 5 in small ball lineups with Cleveland, with Lebron at the 4 would probably work pretty well too.

Him paired with Bron is scary. He cannot play with Okafor on the floor, as you mention, and I have no idea what they are doing with Embiid.

I really hope Ben Simmons does not end up there.

CP3 just intentionally banged knees with Ant Davis and Ant looks hurt:

Saying he intentionally banged knees is misleading. He was trying to draw a foul like basically all PGs do when they're running down the court and have a big guy behind them/on their side. CP3 does some dirty stuff but this wasn't one of those occasions in my opinion.

No one does it more than CP3 though. It's annoying and poor gamesmanship.

It injects lots of risk. And I'm actually surprised CP3 does it with his history of knee issues.

I agree, but that doesn't mean he was trying to hurt Anthony Davis, which is the way it sounds when someone says he intentionally banged knees. I don't think he was trying to bang knees at all. He was trying to bump into him to draw a foul and accidentally banged knees.

Simmons put his "as of now All NBA" team:

Curry, Russ, PG-13, Bron and Kawhi

(two guards, three forwards/centers)

I agree with this, but think KD would make a strong push to bump someone out as the year goes on.

Anyone see that GSW dropped 79 on Indiana in the first half last night?

They almost blew it in the 4th quarter as the GSW bench crapped the bed, but they held on.

Klay with 10 threes (and he tweaked his ankle).

Flipped back and forth from our game to that.

Thompson should be ok he said.

GSW third game in four nights and still had a 30 pt lead at one point w/steph being average (for him), and Draymond had his worst game of the year.

My first thought was to put Durant on here instead of PG-13 but George is really doing everything this year for the Pacers. Also you would have to take the other 3 frontcourt guys on defense over KD.

Glad I kicked the gambling habit (among others), I'd have taken the Pacers at home last night.

The Warriors are playing at a freakishly high level, but they have to lose sometime, don't they? Celtics at home Friday could give 'em trouble, but I also thought the Pacers would last night.

Imagine the excitement and TV ratings if the Warriors are still undefeated when they play the Cavs at home on Christmas. Kyrie'll probably be back by then. Heart be still.

Yeah i thought last night as well. 3rd road game in 4 nights. 99 percent of teams lose at Indiana in a schedule like that, even San Antonio. Steph and Draymond looked tired last night and it still didn't matter.

Boston is a good team, and you think it would be a tough game there, but GSW will have two nights off.

If I'm Cleveland I don't know if I bring Kyrie back that game. I either bring him back a couple of games before or after. I think if you bring him back that game Steph will go insane (I think Steph is going to have a huge game Christmas day anyway).

I'm guessing Kyrie comes back a few games before Christmas. Even if he's good-to-go against the Warriors, I'd still expect his minutes to be limited. Shumpert may be back by then, too. He's a good perimeter defender, Cavs are gonna need all the help they can get against Luke Walton's team. http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2015/12/cleveland_cavaliers_coach_davi_12.html

Lookin' like Kyrie and/or Iman may get some p.t. in Orlando tomorrow or Boston Tuesday. http://www.ohio.com/sports/cavs/cav...ert-could-play-on-upcoming-road-trip-1.646659

I'm not a big fan of the PG-13 nickname. It doesn't have grit like AK-47. Of course with all the recent shootings of innocent people I'm not sure Kirilenko could have pulled that off starting now. I always liked guys who name began with "O" who wore zero as their uniform number. Surprisingly the Big O didn't. I wonder if back then they weren't allowed to. It might have been the 1-5 rule.

don't look now but Milwaukee up 11 on GS halfway through the 4th. Carter Williams has 13 points. Ennis' stat line...

Down goes Golden State, and MCW played a big role: 17 points, 5 assists, 5 steals, a few rebounds, 30 minutes, a punctuation-point steal and race down the court for a sweet jam with under a minute to play, and an even sweeter jam on Curry a bit earlier. Headed to YouTube to look for video documentation of the facial.

Boston had an great shot last night at taking down the Warriors, Isaiah Thomas had shots to win at the end of regulation and the end of the first OT. Celts woulda been better off having had Rufus Thomas, Duane Thomas or Dave Thomas take those two shots. Maybe Danny Thomas, too.
