NBA Playoffs

I don't understand how Derozan is so effective with his shooting guard non-3 point shooting self but man, dude just gets it done.

Derozan is strong at big moments. Also he and Lowry make each other better. And it's not just the two, the rest of the team has bought in and support them well.

Something major needs to be done, or else he's going to keep doing it. It's stupid and dangerous.

But at the same time, as a fan I want to see both teams at full strength.

I'm not a warriors fan at all, but I strongly disagree with this take from everyone. The media really helped create a narrative here. There's multiple videos over the course of the year that show him doing the same flailing motion. It just happened this time he got Adams in the balls. I think it's just something for people to talk about to make them feel like they are on some moral high ground. Is Draymond a little dirty? Maybe, but so are a lot of other NBA players. You start suspending guys because of possible intent you are playing with fire. Look what happened to the NFL. You end up in court. Smart move by Silver. He's much smarter than Goodell.

The NBA wants desperately to have Curry and James in the final. Just watch.

Maybe...but Durant is the next biggest star in the league, and before Curry's crazy rise the last 2 years, KD was the clear #2 guy in the league. They'll have something to market either way, unless Toronto does the unthinkable.

That's my point...he does it all the time. And it's dangerous and stupid, and it was a matter of time before he got someone in the balls.

It's like when Kobe used to do that stupid arm flailing and was catching guys in the face. A suspension put an end to that.

Been there once but it was definitely good. How familiar are you with the area?
The Luigi's area? Knew it well when I hung there till 4 in the morning 40 years, but last two times, took some doin' to find. The food, the atmosphere, it's a great joint.

I had to during tonight's game. Ship happens.

I kept flipping back and forth to the Sharks/Blues. Sharks won, too! It was a good night. Most people don't know how the whole country up here gets behind "their team." You probably have a feel for it, from where you live. It's like being a hockey fan. As in, I don't much like the Flames, but it's more exciting when they're in the playoffs. Same for the Raptors (although I hate that name).

Oh, they're probably OK with Durant/Westbrook from the west, but Toronto anything? I'm not seeing it. They'd have to have Clyde Frazier, Abdul-Jabbar and George Gervin, LOL!

Yeah, I'm just really sick of the Mike Greenberg's of the world and Mark Greenberg wannabees (Brent Axe, Dan Dakich) thinking they are the moral compass of the sports world. Give it up people. They are such flip floppers its crazy.

And Westbrook needs to shut up himself. He does the same flailing motion that Draymond does. That's how he got fouled on a three pointer earlier in the first half.

Man and I thought no one here was watching the NBA. Glad I found this. Shaping up to be two good series. I loved that back and forth action in the 4th quarter last night. At one point it seemed like both teams made about 20 shots in a row combined. I'm still not sure Toronto can win a game at Cleveland.
Can't wait for tonight!!!

ESPN is such a pathetic PC sports analysis network. They are full of say nothing blowhards who go out of their way to say nothing but faux outrage.

Mike Greenberg might be the worst of them all. He literally says nothing interesting but the safe #hotsportztake. I literally can't watch ESPN or any sports analysis anymore. The only show that says anything interesting is Inside the NBA with Barkley.

PTI, Around the Horn, whatever the Skip Bayless-Stephen A Smith show is called, all these shows are unwatchable if you eant to actually like sports.

Sports radio has become trolling and being negative about everything in order to incite people to call in. The whole industry sucks now.

It is what it is. People will tune in to hear SAS freak out for an hour. They're not tuning in to hear Hubie Brown talk X's and O's.

I actually find the H0T Takes entertaining but also know how ridiculous they are and just take it for what it's worth.

If you like Xs and Os, there is some great coverage out there, just need to find it among the other stuff. Zach Lowe, Jonathan Tjarks, The Starters, Nate Duncan, etc.

Also, I really enjoy reddit.com/r/nba

Finally, I'd argue the NBA chatter on here might be the most intelligent discussion topic for this whole board. How is that for a #HotTake?

Yeah I despise Greenberg. He craps on Syracuse all the time because he didn't go to Newhouse. So that doesn't help him with me.

I like Russillo and Kanell, at least they are tolerable...

You turn on Sportscenter, and it's about Draymond Kicking someone in the nuts, Deflategate, or the Congress coming out saying the NFL hid stuff from the players. They don't even cover highlights anymore...( I know, I can get those anywhere else I want)...

Anyway, back to the NBA. I think GSW ties it up tonight and hopefully both series go 7. At least that's what I'm rooting for.

I don't listen to ESPN radio (don't get it up here), but I watch PTI on TSN when I can, and I find they're mostly okay. The problem with most sports talk shows is two-fold. First, there's only so much you can say, but there's an hour or more to fill. Second, the media today is more about the selling of advertising space than the dissemination of information. So they go over the top to generate a following, but it's much more sizzle than steak. That's why people come to places like this - to talk sports without having to listen to the onerous rants of self-promoting gasbags like Stephen A Smith.

The Ringer just put out a good podcast about the "The life and death of the sports highlight" by Bryan Curtis. It's really good.

They only made those because "there is no defense in the NBA".

People are so dumb. The NBA ball movement is off the charts.

ESPN covers their properties and gives them all the hype. NFL, NFL, NFL, then NBA, College sports, MLB and notice how they bury hockey. ESPN is dying in the ratings because Skipper is DISNEYING up the ESPN brand for PC praise.

SVP and Russillo was good radio. Kanell is a troll but he trolls the SEC and defends the ACC.

I can't wait ESPN for anything but games. I like Jalen and Jacoby they tell it the way it is.

Tonight is the WCF game 7. If GS wins they will advance in 6 or 7 if OKC wins I think they will win in 6.
Toronto can't win in Cleveland. Cavs will advance.
