It is so surreal that not only am I not shocked to see us picking a fight with FSU and Alabama for a top recruit, but that my initial gut reaction is "Ehhh if we get him on campus with Fran... it could happen"

Kinda the point. We need someone who is good enough to be serviceable if something happens to McCord. But not so good as to be getting offered starting jobs elsewhere. It's a thin line to hit.

Seems like a perfect fit for us. Two years, quality qb, perfect backup for one year and a guy who could legitimately compete to start in 25. Of course... being a fit for us doesn't mean it'll be a fit for him. Prob at least wants to compete for starting year one. But... maybe the pitch can be made.

If he is ok with competing for a spot I'll never hate having more guys with P4 starting experience.

I read that as he either is not committing. Or best case if he was about to now hes going to hold off for a bit just to prove a point. Ya don't say that then commit 20 min later.

This is a great trend. We need to recruit nationally, dominate NJ and New England, get a good chunk of Penn, and just flat out own NY. We need other forums when seeing a great prospect from NY saying "Yeah we'd love to have him, but you're wasting resources going against Cuse up there."

I really do despise what college sports has become. Every year you have to recruit a whole new team from a pool of mercenaries. At least pro sports have multi-year contracts.

They were probably going to offer, saw Fran involved, and decided not to waste their time. (I don't really believe that but it's fun to say anyway)

I guess we will know if Murphy, Woods, Washington, and Kitna make visits etc if we are trying for more than one in the 2025 class. Murphy is due to visit in just a week or two.

Did he ever visit? It was supposedly going to be rescheduled but I never saw it actually happen or if it's still coming up. Hope so... if not I wouldn't think we'd end up with the commit.
