Not everybody has to be Texas HS-ready to be successful in college. Sometimes taking raw talent, speed and size and building it the way you want it for two or three years pays off in loyalty and knowledge of the system, fewer mistakes and adherence to game plan.

Girard had a good line for that game. He had Baylor's best defender on him most of the game. He missed four 3's but the threat kept his man away from the action the entire game. His defense was great on the perimeter and lousy when he had somebody driving on him. I think he's doing really well.

Fran kept CDRW, so he must have some redeeming value. I don't care how good you are, if you haven't been prepared for a game (and your O-line can't give you time), you're doomed. Also, interesting how FB praised Davis after the first practice.
