I still think there are backup PG minutes available. Cuffe isn’t a true PG. you could argue it will be Westry but Red is taking a big risk if the only PGs on the roster are Lafeww/Westry. I also could see plenty of scenarios where the backup PG and Westry are on the court at the same time. 4/5...

I agree. I don’t know the kid but I can’t imagine a 1 year removed top 50 recruit would settle for a bench spot, especially a team that isn’t expected to contend for a national title. There’s a lot of P5 programs still looking for starting guards

Maybe Red didn’t want an assistant solely for a recruiting pipeline as opposed to a seasoned HC who can help players develop. Especially with the portal being arguably more important than your HS recruiting - I’m ok with passing on a guy jusy because he can connect us with a HS
