    Peter Carey transferring to Siena

I don't think so. They did have an Iowa transfer who was a walkon at Iowa. He played two years at Siena and contributed.

    GMAC to Siena [Official]

One example. After last season, Siena's point guard, Javian McCollum, left Siena for Oklahoma. He was talented but imo not dominant at that level. I heard, from reliable source, he got 220K NIL from Oklahoma. Siena ($50K - 60K?) couldn't come close to matching that. They were simply outbid...

    Marty Januszkiewicz

Roger retired from Merrill Lynch several years ago and still lives in Jamesville. He and his wife Jane also do some wintering in Florida (his son lives there). And yes, he's a nice guy. Very good friend. I attended his wedding and he was at mine.

    GMAC to Siena [Official]

This year they averaged around 5K. When they winning, they averaged around 7K or so. Several years ago, they curtained off the upper level to make it more intimate. I believe it now seats 8K or so. When they were at their peak, they had many games in excess of 10K. During Craig Forth's senior...

    2024 - Portal Tracker

My source (reliable) says he was verbally abused by the coaching staff. Head coach has a history. Last season, he was actually fired for physically assaulting a player in the locker room after a road game. The Albany black community strongly protested and he was subsequently unfired. Both...

    OT Best cough medicine

I've had persistent coughs (for months) over the years, mostly during the winter (not every winter though). Mine has also been attributed to reflux. For years, I've taken OTC Prilosec which seems to work.

    2024 Seating Changes

YES! My 25 additional years (since dome opened) going unrewarded is criminal. Plus double dipping with basketball is crap. Two different pools. I don't have BB season tickets since I decided, for safety reasons, not to take weekly 300 mile round trip wintry treks.

Our crying need. A true center!

I disagree. The coach is a jackarse and has had a few issues himself. He had one issue in which he was fired but the Albany black community protested until he was unfired. He had enough of the coach. I don't think this kid's character is an issue.

Our crying need. A true center!

He left the UAlbany team a week or so ago. My source says he doesn't like the UAlbany staff. Will have two years left. I have no idea if he has ACC talent but did well in America East. Worth a look? Next portal period April 15 - 30.

I'm really rooting for that to happen. Plus, UAlbany has been trash since he was fired.

    GMAC to Siena [Official]

Where did you hear that? Imo, he won't be fired. He has two years left on his contract and I don't think Siena will spend the resources ($570K) to buy him out. Maybe next year. Injuries have plague Siena. Their best two players (Durugordon (he got a waiver to play <10 games ago) and Eley) have...

    2024 Seating Changes

I think you're right. If you look at the virtual seating chart for the lower level on the SU side, there will be a handicap platform (starting ~ Row T?) that looks like it will run the entire length of the sideline. I'm guessing that three to four rows (of season tickets) will be removed down...

Class of 2025 NYS All State Football Teams Are Out for 2023

Joe played at Class C Mechanicville (neighboring town to Stillwater). He was by far the biggest guy on the field. Somehow, Michigan discovered him (not exactly their recruiting territory) and he started at guard three years for them. Then played in the Super Bowl with the Chargers. Pretty...

How long have you been an SU football fan?

Enrolled at SU in 1969. Grew up in Albany area and had seen a handful of games before that (a brother graduated from LeMoyne in 1967). I've been a season ticket holder since the first year of the Dome. I travel from Albany area and have missed only a handful of home games in 44 years (darn...

    Are there any urologists here?

I was introduced to a Urologist back in July 2020 after an incident of blood in my urine. Unfortunately, the term benign wasn't used in my case. Fortunately, my cancer was limited to the bladder lining. Two surgeries, 21 BCG treatments, and 10 cystoscopies later, all is well. Btw, cystoscopies...

First memory of Manley Field House?

Many fond memories of Manley. I arrived in 1969 and remember the walks from Booth, Sweet D, Wich way to the NIT (parts I & 2), etc. My most vivid memory was not basketball related. I think it was the spring of 1970. There was a benefit concert (tickets were 1$) to support student protests (Kent...

    Carl Eilenberg RIP

RIP Carl. I had the utmost respect for Carl. I had an uncle who after WWII, settled in Rome and worked at the air base for 35 years. After he retired, he remained in Rome. My uncle became an amputee (lost a leg) and a recluse. Carl befriended my uncle (never married) throughout his final years...

were there any d1 kids playing in Glens Falls over the weekend?

I saw the AA doubleheader. IMO, no D1 kids except for maybe the kid from Liverpool. Very impressed with the winner Victor. An excellent team that blew out its two opponents. But no D1 kids.

    2003 Albany Regional Memories

I had four tickets 20 rows up looking at the end line. Great seats. My fondest memory was driving 20 minutes, parking, and going to SU games of this magnitude. Not the 2-1/2 hour ride I'm accustomed to for an SU game. I also remember how loud the arena was for SU.

39 years ago today, the Pearl with the buzzer beater.

I was there. Utter chaos. I vividly remember the guy behind me repeatedly screaming (ala Russ Hodges) "The Giants win the pennant, The Giants win the pennant, . . .". That's what makes this stand out to me. Brominski was a very, very close second (I was there too).
