It seems very clear to me that Fran and company are intentionally recruiting much taller OTs (edit OLs, not just OTs) than common with SU and other teams. Would someone knowledgeable please discuss.

The one season of better recruiting concept doesn’t hold up in the portal era; we bought in better players from the 2020-2023 classes. In effect, we have upgraded our last 1-4 recruiting classes this off season.

Agree. He did pretty good backing up Jesse. Going into last season, he seemed to be a good 'worst case scenario' - I think injuries did him in like so many of our centers over the years.

I didn't think it was possible to turn this program around so soon and so much. Fran and team did a great job fixing up the 2024 squad on short notice, the 2025 recruiting is already doing great, and 2026 has started with a bang! If these guys can coach half as good as they recruit, it is easy...

After reading this entire thread, I thought I should point out that ESPN is reporting that: Judah had 4 assists in 28 min. Cope had 1 assist in 26 min. And there are some 30 or 40 posts about Judah not passing the ball and none about Cope.

I thought Hima was quite serviceable last season, but foul prone, and expected him to improve this season.

Cope may be the most exciting player since Ernie DiGregorio. A lot of hotdogging but he makes most of it work. I missed a lot of Pearl because I moved to the west coast in 1980 and TV back then was not what it is now.

Glad to see Brycen and most of the rest of them having good seasons - we lost more than a few games without some of them.

I wanted Red to put Cope on Horne for the entire game - I'm sure he wouldn't have shot 55% and gotten 32 pts. Thought the refs favored NCSt but not as bad as some games and not enough to change the outcome.

This seems an odd comment to me, because I can't remember an SU team that had so many rebounds by guards: Cope, Taylor, JJ, and Mintz are our 2nd-5th rebounders (minus Benny).

You are probably right, but Taylor is always in control and looks like he knows what he is doing, Benny not so much.

I thought he was pretty balanced considering how close he is to SU and Syracuse, much better than Jay Williams but that bar is really low. He certainly knows the game and articulated his thoughts well; so good job.

They have a bunch of good players on their team, and with Omier, I'm surprised they don't have a better record.
