No chance Drumpf runs in 2020.

Watching that press conference today made me feel like this is the last days of the Roman Empire. Maybe not the very last, but something like the Year of the Five Emperors. So, here goes:

Pence resigns due to health concerns, June 2017
Trump names Sessions as his new VP, July 2017
    Trump is impeached, September 2017
Sessions names Mattis VP, September 2017
    Sessions is impeached, October 2018

Mattis defeats De Blasio, November 2020

The way things are going, the 2020 election will be between Ted Nugent and The Rock.

I'm no Trump fan, but the fact is calling him "Drumpf" is no different than calling Caitlyn Jenner "Bruce"

It depends on what happens in 2018.

If the Democrats can defend their red state Senate seats, it will be embolden them to go with a more ideological ticket (call this "what the heart wants")

If they get crushed in 2018, they are going to need a strategic approach to the Rust Belt and soft red states (call this "what the mind wants").

For the Republicans, it's all about keeping the Reagan Democrat/Trump coalition in tact. Trump is obviously best positioned unless something bad happens to him.

    Rubio/Haley

It's the strongest ticket the right can produce to combat the nonsense of 2016
