1st drive
bad field position, got a first down, went deep and Tawo was gone again but Dungey threw it 15-20 yds short? slip? then holding took us out of 3rd and short. the false start. then a pretty well set up screen with 3 blockers and only 2 defenders to beat. but bad throw again, could have been huge play. interesting Lewis grabs dungey as he comes off the field. they saw something he didnt

D holds on with short field and Uconn ties the game

2nd drive.

drive to mid field, ankle tackle on tawo saves a big play. then from midfield tawo is gone again, no safety and throw should lead him to take him away from DB but thrown on aline. another missed chance at a huge play. then Ankle tackle on a scramble saves uconn as ED is probably 10-20 yds down field. he does seem a step slower this year. but we flipped the field.

defense steps up next 2 drives.. Pick 6 and forced punt so SU doesnt touch ball again until the 4th

3rd drive
again 70 yds to go. nice tempo. nice passes moved down the field. Strickland ankle tripped as he is looking for a nice TD run. Inside the 20. 2nd and long ran a play action pass to TE.. questionable holding and tripping. poor throw on top of it might have been the reason for the no call. but should have been a flag and the refs should then have discussed whether it was catchable as the contact occurred so early in the play. even the announcers wanted a call. then missed FG, actually a nice call in that spot. would again like to see that play route run a bit more towards the corner so that the pass is easier and not straight over the top.. good throw and no contact thats a TD. much like the one Uconn missed in the first half.

4th drive.. following a nice uconn drive, fake field goal. blown replay review, great stop on 4th and goal with bad bad bad uconn play calling. SU gets its final drive of the half. give dline some credit the won the battle down there when it mattered. We really struggle against tough DTs and again we could run it out from the goal posts.. but the deep ball from the 5 was killer. nice throw, better catch and again uconn runs no safety over the top? what were they thinking all day? over throws Ish on open deep ball. did he trip him self? he was open. uconn blows a coverage on 3rd down tempo we got play off with no coverage on tawo. huge huge play. Missed throw again to Tawo for easy TD. again no safety and throw needs to lead him to make it easier.

great block on 3rd and goal by Cam but we cant take that false start on 2nd and goal down that deep.

so only 4 drives, 1 TD, 1 missed FG and a couple missed chances on that drive. a coupld deep throws open that were missed. the D helped out with a score and the offense scored the bare minimum of 7, should have been 10 could easily been 17-21 with good throws or kick,

chances are there. 31 scored was about as few as we could score. that has to change to turn the corner.. you cant turn 50 into 30 when the D scores once too..
