The Mets came behind from a 1-7 deficit to win 8-7 on a pinch home run by Kirk Nieuwenhuis to take a 6 game lead over the Nationals. Matt Williams pulled Jordan Zimmerman after 100 pitches. He'd just struck out Cespedes in the top of the 6th. Zimmerman had gotten 17 guys out, giving up only 4 baserunners and one run. The five guys who replaced him got out 10 guys and put 10 guys on base, 6 by walks and gave up 7 runs. Love those pitch counts, especially in the heat of a pennant race!
