Class of 2017 ATH Daewood Davis (FL) Now Flipped to Oregon/ Transferred to WKU/Signed as UDFA to Miami

Wow. That's a highlight film of a legit stud WR. This kid could do some serious damage in Babers system. What is even better is he will have a full season with Steve Ishmael. I'd say Ish hasn't put up the numbers some would have expected, but that's no fault of his own. I have a very good feeling that we are going to see the HS prospect many felt he would be utilized to the absolute best of his abilities the next 2 years. Besides that Ish has been an absolute great representative of this program. He's no longer the shy kid, that was uncomfortable talking to reporters. He's now a confident, well spoken leader. He even mentioned cutting off his dreads because he felt he was no longer a kid (or something along those lines). His work ethic is also well known. It's will be a great example for a young kid who is coming from the same part of the world.

Kentucky eyeing 2017 ACC commit

Cats Illustrated has learned that the Kentucky coaching staff is taking a close look at a Class of 2017 player who is committed to an ACC school.

Davis has been clocked at 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash

High school juniors won't be signing with any colleges for more than a year. There's the Signing Day for current seniors in just a couple of weeks and then a year from then is when current juniors have to shut down recruiting.

Commitments matter now. Kentucky has several from the Class of 2017 already. But commitments are also non-binding.

Just as there are more early commitments than ever, there are more decommitments than ever. Every school in the country continues recruiting players committed elsewhere especially this far out from Signing Day, as we are with 2017 players.

Cats Illustrated has learned that Kentucky has taken an interest in Daewood Davis, an intriguing receiver from the 2017 class.

Listed as a 6-foot-2, 176-pound wide out, Davis has been clocked at 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He attends Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Somerset Academy, and that's in the recruiting region that belongs to new offensive coordinator Eddie Gran.

Davis told Cats Illustrated that Gran stopped by Somerset Academy on Tuesday, and while no offer was extended the Cats' new assistant head coach for offense did request his transcripts and seems to be showing interest.

While it's very early in the recruiting process and Davis is committed to Syracuse he also has offers from Duke, Indiana, Louisville, Miami, NC State and Utah, among many others from the Group of Five ranks.

Notably, Davis was offered by Cincinnati when Gran and quarterbacks coach Darin Hinshaw were on staff with the Bearcats under Tommy Tuberville.

Like you said a lot of time between now and then. Yes I knew we would have our hands full trying to keep Mr. Davis on board with us, however I believe it is up to us to keep control and doing it by winning some and showing him the excitement of this new offense where he will be a big part of it and of course bringing in top recruits to build this team around like himself.

Kentucky? Maybe if he was a basketball player. 0.0% chance we lose him to Kentucky football with Babers as our coach and him being a WR. Maybe to a big time school but not Kentucky.

"Blessed Illinois offer"? Doesn't he mean "Breathing, Illinois offer"?
Illinois was busy at that school today. Offered him and some 2017s and 18s that have SU offers

Fitting emoji since Illinois doesn't have a prayer.
2018 they would. 2017 would require a new AD to be there in time to axe Cubit after game 10, and is followed be a quick hire of a Dino-like figure.

It will be hard to flip him after he sees the new offense in the Dome. The football office will be well oiled by then.

Per Rivals he is still committed but open to looking at other programs.
