Amazing that before Fran seeing Penn State and Nebraska on the offer list would have meant an uphill battle. We certainly won some of those battles, but now it feels we're much more equal footing.

"Syracuse has been dominating a lot of commits, so I’m glad to be a part of that."

“I know they have been getting a bunch of guys,” Johnson said. “Obviously, with him the program is going in the right direction.”

Johnson said he is being recruited as an athlete by Syracuse. He has not visited Syracuse yet, but plans to in the future.

“It’s definitely out of all my offers in the top five,” he said. “The fact that it’s not really that far from CT. Also, a lot of my peers, that’s their college team.”

“The staff all seem like good people,” Johnson said. “I talked to coach Thomas and he had called me the night he offered me and it was an automatic click off the rip. We just had a good talk and conversation and that’s the type of people you want to be around.”

If he wins big next year, we will be beyond equal footing. This coach/staff is creating what feels like a cultish (in a good way) feel.

"A lot of discussion with the coaches was about the team and the program," Johnson said. "They also mentioned morals, and a little about themselves as coaches, husbands and fathers."
