I used the phrase "havent been very many" indicating that there are not a lot, but more than zero. Also picking the guy who skipped college altogether as an argument for ohio producing great college players is not a good argument.

Don't these kids realize that they would get drafted by the NBA just as high if they went to a school other than UK? Cal's "coaching" has nothing to do with it. All of those kids are top 10 in their hs class. IMO they like UK because it is flat out told to them that they don't have to do any school work there and the fix is in to give them the necessary grades.

top 10 kids want to play with other top 10 kids, its that simple. Also, they are slotted into starting spots and whether people want to admit it or not, Calipari gets them ready for the NBA. I totally understand why kids want to go to UK. Also, their fan support is second to none.

Nobody knows these kids thoughts.

Go to uk and put up with being hyped as the best team ever only to underachieve. Get a paycheck only to be forced out the door as a freshmen ending up in the d league. That is always in the back of their mind.

On the other hand, this kid could see himself as a two-three and done prospect at syracuse. He is built for the lateral quickness and athleticism in the syracuse zone, where he will get to play with another upperclass stud forward for a year, really working on his game while being offered a true college education experience. If he is ready for big minutes as a fresh JB will find him big playing time. Its a no brainer, theres so much Cuse in his game.

UK also has ~$50 million housing for basketball players with specifically designed tall ceilings, tall doors, etc. Say what you want but they drop huge amounts of $$$ into basketball that even programs like 'Cuse are nowhere close to matching.

Money in the program and money in the pockets of the kids and their families; this is either directly or indirectly (World Wide Wes) with shoe deals that kick in as soon as their year is up.
