One thing that Desko doesn't mention regarding attendance at previous games at KSU, is that those visits were tied to a week of camps (during SU's Spring Break) and other activities. I recall that on the day of last year's game against St. John's at KSU he had a clinic either before or after the game for 50-100 kids. He had some SU alums (who supposedly also worked at the camps that week) show some moves, drills & skills to the kids. All of those kids, plus many more who attended camps during the week were at the game with their teams and family members.

It's understandable that you don't have such activities surrounding the ACC Championship. As a result, you also don't get that extra boost in attendance. Most of the people at the game on Sunday were there to support one of the finalists. They brought some family members and friends, but there didn't appear to be all that many people there who didn't have a rooting interest... e.g. casual fans.

I'd like to see a mix of venues. Do a rotation of the member schools (if they're interested in hosting) and sprinkle in a neutral site every 2 or 3 years.
