Five programs remain in the strongest conference in the nation, but the ACC tournament winner will still earn an automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA tournament, the NCAA Division I Championships/Sports Management Cabinet confirmed in September, as men's lacrosse conferences have generally been able to keep an AQ bid for three seasons after they've first earned it. So the ACC is still an AQ conference for 2015 and 2016.
Only four teams will make the ACC postseason tournament April 24 and 26 at PPL Park in Chester, Pa., but the fifth-place team isn't left out completely. It will play Penn at PPL Park on April 25 in a non-conference showcase game, the ACC confirmed Wednesday...
