Delone Carter, the former Syracuse running back that paced the offense in 2009 and 2010, was traded from Indianapolis to Baltimore on Wednesday for wide receiver David Reed.
Carter, who was drafted by the Colts in the 4th round of the 2011 draft, carried the ball 32 times for 122 yards and three touchdowns last season. But his carries were likely to decreases this year following the Colts' acquisition of former Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw.
For his career, Carter has 499 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He topped 1,000 yards twice during his time at Syracuse.
By moving to Baltimore, Carter will join a pair of former Syracuse players. Both Arthur Jones, a defensive lineman, and Jameel McClain, a linebacker, contributed to the Ravens' Super Bowl-winning squad last season.
Ray Rice, Bernard Pierce, Damien Berry, Anthony Allen and Bobby Rainey are the other running backs on the Ravens' roster.

This is a good deal for DC3. Colt's HC Pagano left the Ravens to take the Colts job. The Colts have a lot of quality at RB including recently acquired Ahmad Bradshaw, and it looks like the Ravens have a need to fill. I hope DC3 can make the 53.
