Favorite Pearl story: His relationship with Betty Finney

As like most of you, I admired the Pearl from afar. I was fortunate enough to be able to watch him go from Brooklyn to the Cuse and then to the NBA. As you guys know, he was "The Pearl". He was special and he was legendary. However, when I read those stories last year about how he developed this relationship with Betty Finney, a woman who was like 37 years older than he, it totally blew me away in a different way.

Sean Kirst did a wonderful job writing about it last year. The article about Betty's funeral was a tearjerker. Pearl gave a eulogy. It was very prophetic: "When it's your time, it's time". Please read the article and watch his eulogy. It's very special.
