IWLCA Polls: Final Division I, II & III Ranks

After capturing their second NCAA Championship in the past four years, the University of North Carolina (20-2) took over the top spot in the final IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll, claiming all 20 available first place votes. The Tar Heels took down Maryland (22-1) in the Championship game on Sunday, knocking the Terps out of the top spot for the first time this season. After returning to the semi-finals for the first time since 1999, Penn State (14-7) made a big jump in the final poll, landing in the fourth position, while Penn climbed to #9.

Media Poll: Final 2016 Poll

The final Media Poll of the season is in, and No. 1 North Carolina leads the field for the first time this season coming off its NCAA championship performance over Maryland, 13-7. The No. 2 Terps trail their former ACC foe, as No. 3 Syracuse, No. 4 USC and No. 5 Florida round out the top five rankings.

No. 6 Penn State makes the leap from No. 15, as the Nittany Lions proved to be one of the top teams in May downing seeded No. 2 Florida and No. 7 Penn en route to its national semifinal appearance.

The first non-NCAA Tournament team in the Media Poll is Albany, who leads the group receiving votes with 12 votes.
