Welcome to INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY!

TODAY IS INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY! It's a whole day dedicated to something that drives most people crazy—text that is written in ALL CAPITALIZED LETTERS.

International Caps Lock Day was created in 2000 by Derek Arnold of Iowa. This holiday began as a parody. It was intended to poke fun at those individuals who unnecessarily capitalize letters, words, and phrases. The day became so popular with internet users that it is now celebrated twice a year—on June 28 and on October 22.

Syracuse Basketball: Will Anyone Ever Break Lawrence Moten's Scoring Record? (TNIAAM; Keeley)

Given the way college basketball has evolved, is it unreasonable to think Lawrence Moten's school scoring record is untouchable?

As a freshman, Malachi Richardson averaged 13.4 points per game. Then after that one season he left for the NBA.

Now let's take a guy like John Wallace. Wallace averaged 11.1 points per game as a freshman. Wallace would stay at Syracuse for four years, eventually becoming the team's star player and leading scorer, averaging 15.0 PPG as a sophomore, 16.8 PPG as a junior and 22.2 PPG as a senior. Wallace finished his Syracuse career with 2,119 points, good for third all-time behind Derrick Coleman (2,143) and Lawrence Moten (2,334).

All three of those guys have a very obvious thing in common. They stayed at Syracuse for four years.

Now, this isn't one of those "the game was better back then" type posts, it's more just a post made out of curiosity. Because if Wallace, Coleman or Moten played for Syracuse now, they'd all be gone by the end of sophomore year. That's just the way it is. The game has changed and the system doesn't benefit guys like them to play for four years.

SWIPE LEFT: All of Sacramento's picks

As Omer Kahn wrote on Sactown Royalty, the Kings "did not inspire confidence that they know what they are doing." Or as Boogie put it:

Greek center Georgios Papagiannis (No. 13) is an intriguing player because of his explosiveness as a rim runner and potential as a rim protector. But this past year with Panathinaikos was really the first time he looked the part of a lottery pick. Just months prior he lacked energy and looked disinterested on the defensive end playing for Greece in the FIBA U19 World Championship.

It's absolutely possible Papagiannis figured it out this past year, but in Sacramento's situation, with capricious personalities in the locker room, there is a legitimate concern that he'll fall back into his bad habits that once plagued him.

Syracuse guard Malachi Richardson (No. 22) possesses a feel for the game ranks among the lowest in this class. He goes into hero mode thinking he's prime Kobe, but he's as efficient as old Kobe. His effort level was low playing in Syracuse's comfortable zone defense.

In other words, his game screams "me" over "we." He has tunnel vision and appears temperamental. The lack of organizational stability and the presence of other volatile personalities could make for a combustible mix. Sacramento better have a plan for catering to Richardson's early ambitions while ensuring his objectives don't agitate the rest of the hornets nest.

The ACC's 2017 NBA Draft Headliners - Today's U (todaYysu.com; Holcomb)

The Atlantic Coast Conference produced some high-quality shooters for the 2016 NBA Draft, but the SEC led the way with five first-round selections. The ACC settled for four first-rounders and eight total selections. The eight overall picks topped the SEC’s seven.

Next year, fans should be prepared for the ACC to dominate. NBAdraft.net — in its way-too-early mock draft — has 10 players from the conference going in the first round, including four in the top 10. That’s not an aberration. CBS has nine ACC players listed for the first round in its mock draft for next June.

Here are all those players ACC fans should keep their eyes on for next year’s NBA draft.

Tyler Lydon, Syracuse

Many argued that Lydon was the best NBA prospect Syracuse had last season, not Malachi Richardson. Lydon averaged 10.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game as a freshman, but he really played strongly down the stretch, scoring at least 15 points in four of the team’s final seven ACC games.

In the NCAA Tournament, Lydon displayed his complete game, averaging 10.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.2 threes and 4 blocks per contest. His sensational defense late against Gonzaga lifted Syracuse to a victory in the Sweet 16. With another year of seasoning as a Syracuse starter, Lydon should go in the top 20 next June.

REO Speedwagon stops to play golf, Hall & Oates dines at Modern Malt in Syracuse (PS; Tulloch)

Having nationally-touring acts booked at the new Lakeview Amphitheater means having a few more celebrity sightings in Central New York.

On Sunday, a handful of well-known rockers showed up at the Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse. Bellevue's head golf professional, Steve Aloi, said REO Speedwagon's frontman Kevin Cronin, drummer Bryan Hitt and bassist Bruce Hall played a game with another club member at about 12:30 p.m.

"They were extremely gracious and happy to play here," said Aloi. "They said it was good to get away because they're always on the tour bus. They said they wanted to get out and do things. Great guys."

After taking a photo with Aloi, the three band members went on their way. REO Speedwagon will open for Def Leppard tonight at Lakeview Amphitheater.

Hall & Oates also stopped by a local business this past weekend, before their concert on Saturday.

Tiffany Yanez, bar manager at Modern Malt in Armory Square, saw Daryl Hall and John Oates on Saturday at about 10:30 a.m. First, the band's audio manager came in to pick up a bag of to-go food. As he left, Hall and Oates entered and asked for a table out on the patio.

"It was awesome," said Yanez. "I was texting my friends and family about it, totally freaking out. Everyone was creeping out the windows to see them."
