Welcome to Worldwide Howl at the Moon Night!

With Halloween only five days away, it’s only fitting that October 26 is Worldwide Howl at the Moon Night! We’re sure at one point in your life you’ve wanted to let out a giant howl at that celestial orb in the sky, so tonight is the night to release your inner wolf.

Wolves have been connected with howling at the moon for centuries. Images of wolves and moons have been traced back to the Stone Age, while Roman and Greek goddesses of the moon were also known for keeping dogs and wolves in their company. There were even some Native American cultures that believed wolves summoned the moon to rise every night.

How well do you know Syracuse basketball players? Take our quiz (PS; Ditota)

We know a fair amount of things about Syracuse basketball players. Dajuan Coleman was a McDonald's All-American. Andrew White transferred from Nebraska. Tyus Battle was the New Jersey high school player of the year.

But on Syracuse's media day last Friday, we wanted to provide you with some, well, more obscure identifying information. We asked each of SU's scholarship basketball players to reveal one thing about himself that nobody else (or very few people) know.

Some guys came up with items immediately. Others took more time to summon that special something about themselves.

We're inviting you, on the strength of those answers, to take our quiz: How well do you know your Orange men's basketball team? The quiz features the photo of a player and 10 possible replies. You must match the player with the answer he gave about his mysterious identifying characteristic.

Don't worry if you don't score well. I'm pretty sure the players' teammates don't know many of these answers.

Five big questions for ACC Media Day (TNIAAM; Cassillo)

ACC Media Day is tomorrow, providing fans and press with one of just two chances to really chat with the entire conference at once (the other being the ACC Tournament) all season. As announced this morning, seniors Dajuan Coleman and Tyler Roberson will be in attendance for the Syracuse Orange. Jim Boeheim will also be there, as one would expect.

While SU is the most important of the league’s 15 teams in our minds, there are obviously other narratives and important things to discuss for the ACC, too.

Below are five big questions for ACC Media Day. Feel free to ponder these leading up to tomorrow’s event in Charlotte, N.C., and hopefully we get some answers as the season begins.

1. Can the conference expand upon last year’s success?

Syracuse and North Carolina both made the Final Four this past season, and four ACC teams made the Elite 8. Unfortunately those teams all proceeded to knock each other out along the way. But still, despite failing to win the ultimate prize, the ACC still proved itself to be the country’s preeminent basketball conference. Duke also won just the year before, if you forgot...

So how, other than just winning it all this year, can the league expand upon what they pulled off last year? A lot will focus on how the non-traditional “powers” assert themselves. Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, Louisville and Syracuse are your odds-on favorites to win the conference most years, and ultimately carry the flag through the tournament. This year’s preseason rankings see additional hype for teams like Florida State, Miami, Clemson and Virginia Tech, however.

Let’s Rank Syracuse’s Basketball Opponents | Otto's Grove (.com; Kelly)

Man, we’re getting so close. I mean, so close. ACC Media Day is coming up tomorrow, another sign that basketball season is nearly upon us. The Orange are pretty loaded this year, and open the season ranked No. 17 in the nation by the coaches. But how do the teams on Syracuse’s schedule stack up?

I’m glad you asked.

Look, I know you didn’t ask. Just go with it. Why do you have to be so difficult, Doug?

Syracuse plays a very solid schedule, helped tremendously by the ever-deep ACC. Non-conference play features some old foes like St. John’s, Georgetown, and UConn in addition to a high profile matchup with Wisconsin. But enough screwing around. Let’s rank this year’s competition, from worst to best.

27. Colgate
Last season Colgate finished 13-17. There’s really not much to say here, honestly. The season opener for the Orange will be a cakewalk.

26. Cornell
Like Colgate, Cornell struggled last season pretty mightily, slumping to a 10-18 finish last year. Another easy win for the Orange.

25. Boston College
Are you happy, Boston College? You’re so bad that you’re only just barely beating out the likes of Colgate and Cornell. The Eagles were embarrassingly bad last season, to the point where a departing senior said his favorite memory was eating on road trips. And he said this while fighting off tears. Boston College was 7-25 last year. They’re… they’re not good.

Beer run! Self-driving truck delivers Budweiser in Colorado (PS; AP)

Anheuser-Busch says it has completed the world's first commercial shipment by self-driving truck, sending a beer-filled tractor-trailer on a journey of more than 120 miles through Colorado.

The company says it teamed with self-driving truck maker Otto and the state of Colorado for the feat. The trailer, loaded with Budweiser beer, began the self-driving trip Thursday at a weigh station in Fort Collins, Colorado, and ran along Interstate 25 through Denver before wrapping up in Colorado Springs.

The company says a professional truck driver was on board for the entire route and monitored the trip from the cab's sleeper berth.

Anheuser-Busch says it hopes to see self-driving technology widely deployed.

Otto was recently acquired by Uber.

[/QUOTE]Self-driving truck full of beer seems dangerous but perhaps less dangerous than a truck being driven by a guy full of beer.

How about a robot bar tender that doesn't scowl at you for not tipping 20%

I like these two guys. Both pretty shy under the lights of the camera, but these are two blue collar players that will get after it this year. Every single rebound, every single possession.

Wholeheartedly agree with you tee. Man they were sort of brutal in the press conference. Goodness!
