Michael Porter Jr., the No. 2-rated player in the 2017 class, has released a list of 17 schools that he will consider. And Syracuse has made the cut.
Porter, a 6-foot-9 forward from Columbia, Mo., announced his initial list of schools on his Twitter account Sunday night.

Boxing Hall of Fame Induction 2015: Riddick Bowe, Ray Mancini, Jim Lampley Enter Shrine (PS; Staff)

Riddick Bowe wore his heavyweight championship belt. Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, introduced by his two sons, gave an emotional speech. Announcer Jim Lampley was eloquent.
Bowe, Mancini and Lampley were among the 2015 class inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on Sunday afternoon in Canastota, N.Y.
The others inducted Sunday were boxers "Prince" Naseem Hamed and Yoko Gushiken, referee Steve Smoger, agent/manager Rafael Mendoza and journalist Nigel Collins.

Hamed did not attend the ceremony because of his wife's medical issue, according toESPN.com.
According to the
Oneida Dispatch, Lampley said that "Boxing is a canvass on which an endless stream of artists paint indelible images. I get the privilege of knowing them and attempting to describe what they do."

Boxing Hall of Fame article brings back good memories of attending with my son the year Ali was installed. We stood right next to him at one point. His face was as smooth as velvet. Not one scar after all those fights!
Carmen Basilio, who was also there that day, had a face that looked like it had run over by a lawn mower.
