Chocolate Cake Day is a a chocolate lovers delight, and a day to eat cake. Why this a day to "bake your chocolate cake...and eat it, too!"
On this day, a white or yellow cake will not do. Nor, will part chocolate, part white suffice. It must be chocolate, all chocolate. You can make milk chocolate, dark chocolate, fudge, or any other type of chocolate cake.
The only reference to Chocolate Day on the Internet is from Ecard and calendar websites. This might lead you to conclude that this as a day for(and by) the Ecard companies. But, we know better. This day is for you, and all chocolate lovers.
There are three objectives of Chocolate Cake Day: To bake a chocolate cake. To decorate a chocolate cake. And, to eat a chocolate cake. Of course, if you are to busy to bake or decorate a cake, then just eating a chocolate cake will certainly do!

Which Player Do You Trust in Crunch Time? (TNIAAM; Szuba)
During Sunday night's contest at Virginia, the Syracuse Orange made some critical plays down the stretch but ultimately fell short. It wasn't that Syracuse was bad offensively in crunch time in this contest, the defensive lapses hurt the Orange.
Syracuse actually made plays on the offensive end that they failed to do at Pittsburgh and Miami, so that got us thinking, which player do you want to take the shot (or free throws) when it matters most? Here are three scenarios:
Down two on the road with possession -- 10 seconds left facing a superior opponent
There's a reason I'm not a coach, but I believe if you're facing a better team you try to steal a game and go for the win by taking a three. Here's who I think should take the final shot ranked in order.
1. Michael Gbinije: Gbinije is the team's best player -- you want the best chance on the final possession. That doesn't mean he will always come through but he gives you the best opportunity to win the game. You always want your best player taking the final shot.
2. Malachi Richardson: Richardson has shown the ability to rise to the occasion in crunch time. He hit the tough three in the corner against Clemson with 1:02 left in the game and also the clutch three against Virginia with 28 seconds left to cut the game to three.

How SU Has Held Opponents Scoreless in Transition for Four Straight Games (TNIAAM; Cassillo)
The Syracuse Orange's defense hasn't been amazing all season, but especially in recent contests (58 points per game allowed in the last four), you can tell there's been an uptick in intensity on that end.
As Syracuse.com discusses, you can thank the team's transition defense for that.
Chris Carlson's post goes into detail about how Syracuse has not only clamped down in transition, but has actually prevented any transition baskets over the course of the last four games. Not only that, but SU opponents are only scoring 15.8 percent of baskets in transition (according to Hoop-Math.com), which is the best figure in the country. Jim Boeheim points to senior guard play as the main reason for this success. As he told Syracuse.com:
"Our guards, our perimeter people, do get back. Really, only Tyler Roberson is a really good offensive rebounder. The other perimeter guys get back well."
"I think one of the things about fast break is bad turnovers lead to fast breaks. We haven't done that. Our turnovers have not been turnovers that can get people out on the break. That's one thing."
Notre Dame coach Mike Brey, whose team faces Syracuse this Thursday, added:
"You're talking about two fifth-year. … guards, that is a great advantage and a heck of a place to start when building a nucleus. You've got two men that know how to play, veteran guys, it's a great foundation to start with."

SU vs ND Game Preview (insidetheloudhouse.com; Stone)
Syracuse basketball finally heads back home after a three game road trip to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Carrier Dome on Thursday at 7 pm.
And so begins the start of an absolutely crucial four game home stretch for Syracuse. If they want a chance at making the NCAA tournament they need to go 3-1 at worst, preferrably 4-0 in this stretch. It’s certainly feasible, given the next four opponents are a hobbled Notre Dame, followed by Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Florida State.
No game in the ACC is easy this year, but this is one of the better stretches for Syracuse. All four of those teams are very beatable.
But before we look ahead too much, let’s delve into the matchup against Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish come into this game ranked 25th in the country and sitting at 14-5. They’ve won four straight ACC games, including a solid win over Duke on the road at Cameron.
However, Notre Dame is most likely going to have a serious problem when they take on Syracuse basketball, as they will almost assuredly be without their leading scorer and playmaker Demetrius Jackson. Jackson suffered a hamstring injuryin Saturday’s game against Boston College. Although he was seen working out on Monday, Notre Dame coach Mike Brey said “It would be a miracle to come back (for Thursday’s game)”.

Brief Blast of Lake Effect Snow to Hit CNY; Hazardous Outlook Issued (PS; Coin)
Update: The lake effect snow advisory for Tug Hill has been upgraded to a warning. The weather service says 4 to 6 inches of new snow is expected this morning, bringing storm totals to 10 to 12 inches.
Syracuse, N.Y. -- Lake effect snow is heading toward Central New York this morning just in time for the morning commute.
Parts of the Syracuse area could see about 4 inches today, while Tug Hill could get double that. The National Weather Service has issued several low-level alerts.
Snow will intensify about 7 or 8 a.m. today as the lake effect moves southward from Lake Ontario. Snow showers could be heavy enough at times to reduce visibility to a half a mile or less, the weather service said.
"The primary band will likely be capable of producing a couple inches of snow across western Oneida and far northern Onondaga counties," the weather service said. After that, the band will split up into several smaller bands, and another 1 to 2 inches of snow is possible from Auburn to Syracuse through early afternoon.
Up to 4 inches might fall across northwest Onondaga County.
