Welcome to Peace Corps Day!

Newly elected President John F. Kennedy issues an executive order establishing the Peace Corps. It proved to be one of the most innovative and highly publicized Cold War programs set up by the United States.

During the course of his campaign for the presidency in 1960, Kennedy floated the idea that a new “army” should be created by the United States. This force would be made up of civilians who would volunteer their time and skills to travel to underdeveloped nations to assist them in any way they could.

Ocean Township QB Kenny Pickett

Elite 11 Coach Chris Malleo Believes NJ QB Talent on the Rise (nj.com; Hunt)

Within New Jersey's junior and sophomore classes, there are a number of quarterbacks with the potential to play at the FBS level. That fact has led Peddie School (Hightstown, N.J.) and Elite 11 coach Chris Malleo to believe that the Garden State could one day be mentioned among California and Florida, which annually boast some of the top talent at that position.

"This class of kids that are coming out of New Jersey is special, especially now because they are working year-round at the quarterback position," Malleo told NJ.com. "For me, it's only a matter of time before people are like New Jersey, California and Florida, they've got quarterbacks. That's what it's starting to come to now."

There are a number of recruits who Malleo believes has the goods, but he had the most candid analysis of Ocean Township junior Kenny Pickett, a three-star recruit, who in his estimation, has flown under the radar to this point.

ACC Spring Preview: Chasing Clemson and FSU (usatoday.com; Myerberg)

It took about an hour, give or take, for the underclassmen gathered in Clemson’s locker room below University of Phoenix Stadium to turn toward the 2016 season.

A few had announcements to make. Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett would return for his senior year, he said. Then-sophomore running back Wayne Gallman was noncommittal, though he took to his Twitter account one day later to broadcast his decision to return to Clemson’s star-powered offensive attack.

Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney took the proclamations one step further: We expect to be back in this game next season, said Swinney, who had brought the Tigers within steps of the program’s first title in decades.

Syracuse University Temporarily Bans Use of Hoverboards on Campus (PS; Mulder)

Syracuse University is temporarily banning the use of hoverboards because of concerns that the devices are prone to exploding and catching fire.

In a statement, SU said it is banning the possession, storage and use of hoverboards on university property, including in all university-owned or -controlled buildings, facilities, residence halls, South Campus apartments and other structures.

"The University has conducted a thorough analysis of the early research and has concluded that there exists a serious safety threat to our community," Tony Callisto, SU's senior vice president for safety and chief law enforcement officer, said in a prepared statement.

Hoverboards are two-wheeled, motorized, self-balancing scooters. You drive them by balancing on two feet like a sideways skateboard with no handlebars.

More than 30 colleges and universities, as well as major airlines and public transportation departments nationwide, have already banned the boards from use.

Callisto said he saw four or five hoverboards being used at SU in the fall. Although there have have been no problems with the devices on campus, SU wants to avoid the possibility of a hoverboard exploding or starting a fire in a residence hall, he said.

LOL. I just find it amazing that everything is being changed/updated.

I like it...plus we have been so bad as of late that even the biggest of doubters really can't make an argument to keep anything the same as it was.
