Scrabble Day celebrates the popular board game. It's been popular around the world ever since. People young and old enjoy this game.
Scrabble was created in 1938 by Alfred Mosher Butts. It is sold by Hasbro, Inc.
By far the best way to celebrate Scrabble Day is with Oxyphenbutazone.
That's right, Oxyphenbutazone is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug; you already knew that; but it's also the word that, in a single play, can give the highest possible score on a Scrabble board. The chances of it ever coming up are similar to the chances of winning this week's lottery, as you'd need to join all seven of your tiles with eight already on the board across three triple word scores. Still, it would be worth waiting for, scoring 1,778 points. You'd almost certainly win the game with that.
There's no need to chase rainbows though; everyone loves Scrabble, so why not spend Scrabble Day with someone you like, in a friendly battle of words and wits?

The Syracuse Orange football season begins in 142 days. That seems like a long time, and it is. But given the excitement around the fan base for the start of the Dino Babers era, why not get going a little early on previews? We start with our opponents, which are just as difficult as ever. Coach: Dan Hunt, third year. Long-time 'Gate assistant Hunt took over the program in 2014, and over the course of two years, he's turned the Raiders into a pretty legitimate FCS team. After going 5-7 in year one, he led the team to a 9-5 record and Patriot League title in year two. They lost in the FCS quarterfinals to Sam Houston State and ended up ranked 13th overall. So yeah, Rhode Island, this team is not.

Newtown's Ben Mason Receives Offer to Play Football at Michigan (sportzedge.com; Dayton)
Newtown’s Ben Mason is a bruising, 17-year-old, 240-pound man. And now, he’s being recruited by the University of Michigan.
Mason, who was first team all-state as a junior last season, had been offered scholarships to play football at UConn, Syracuse, California, Rutgers, Duke and Yale, among other schools. He tweeted out that he was offered by Michigan on Tuesday:
Mason made 110 tackles (6 for a loss), and racked up 5.5 sacks for the Nighthawks last season. He led Newtown to a 12-1 record, a Southwest Conference title and an appearance in the Class LL semifinals.

LeMoyne College Won't Cancel Classes for Dolphy Day After Controversy Last Year (PS; Herbert)
Le Moyne College canceled classes in honor of Dolphy Day for the first and only time last year. Students shouldn't expect it to happen again, according to a new report.
An email to faculty obtained by campus newspaper The Dolphin says classes cannot be canceled for the unofficial school holiday due to liability issues. In 2015, Vice President of Student Development Deb Cady Melzer and others decided toformally cancel classes for Dolphy Day "on a trial basis."
Dolphy Day, an annual tradition since 1971, occurred on April 16 last year. The day consisted of the usual partying on campus as in years past, but drew more controversy after a male student was accused of sexually assaulting a female classmate at Le Moyne on the early morning of April 17.
Police investigated, and found no evidence of a sex crime. A student was charged with a misdemeanor in another incident and removed from campus.
According to The Dolphin, teachers may still cancel classes for Dolphy Day as in years past even if school is not called off by administrators.
"As was the case before last year, individual instructors may make arrangements with their classes for the day on the expectation of low attendance," the Provost Office said in the email obtained by The Dolphin.
