Welcome to World Music Day!

The Fête de la Musique, also known as Make Music Day[1][2] or World Music Day,[3] is an annual music celebration taking place on 21 June.

The concept of an all-day musical celebration on the days of the solstice, was originated by the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang. The festival later became celebrated in 120 countries around the world.[4]

Virginia, Syracuse looking to end ACC droughts (espn; Hale)

Fans in Cleveland can finally celebrate a championship after more than a half-century of near-misses and devastating losses, thanks to the Cavaliers’ upset of Golden State on Sunday. And that got us to thinking: Which ACC football teams are currently enduring some ignominious streaks? Here are a few of the longest droughts in the conference.

Longest streak without a 10-win season: Virginia, 26 years

The Cavaliers went 10-3 and earned a berth in the Citrus Bowl way back in 1989, and while they have five nine-win campaigns since, they’ve not reached double-digits. New head coach Bronco Mendenhall aims to end that streak.

Longest streak without a 3,000-yard passer: Virginia, never

Virginia actually has the ignominy of never having had a 3,000-yard passer in its history, though Matt Schaub came within 50 yards of doing it in back-to-back years in 2002 and 2003.

'N.Y. Nick' to open new bar downtown (pnj.com; Gleseken)

At the age of 14, Nick Zangari walked into his uncle's 400-seat, six-dining-room restaurant in Syracuse, N.Y., when his eyes opened wide and he fell in love.

"I was a busboy," he said Monday afternoon. "People were drinking. Eating. Having fun. I saw my uncle and I said, 'This is what I want to do.' "

Well before he moved to Pensacola in 1981 or opened New York Nick's in 2003, Zangari grew up the child of a Syracuse family where half were involved in restaurants, bars, hotels, casinos and resorts, and the other half worked in law enforcement.

His dream was always to open his own bar or restaurant. That was fulfilled with New York Nick's, which closed in early April at the end of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Zangari worked out an amicable arrangement with landlord Bobby Switzer, who needed the space for crucial renovations to Palafox Place, the block of buildings bounded by Garden, Palafox, Romana and Baylen streets.

Get To Know Your Orange Man - No. 86 WR Adly Enoicy (TNIAAM; Cassillo)

Name: Adly Enoicy
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: (Redshirt) Sophomore
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 222
Hometown: Delray Beach, Fla.
High School: Atlantic Community
2015 Stats: Enoicy didn't play in any games last season.

2016 Projections: Enoicy's behind Steve Ishmael on the Syracuse Orange depth chart, and given this offense's need to cycle in a lot of different receivers, he's definitely gonig to see the field this year. You'd hope so, given his size and how much the old staff seemed to like him when he committed.

How’d He Get Here?: Enoicy was an FIU flip prior to National Signing Day in 2014. He had a boatload of other offers too, from schools like Florida State, Auburn, Florida, Miami and others.

What’d Recruiting Sites Say?: Mostly three stars, though ESPN said four. Nice of them to do so.

Money Quote: Enoicy was all aboard the new uniforms train back when SU switched to its most recent duds.

Get To Know Your Orange Man - No. 87, TE Kendall Moore (TNIAAM; Keeley)

Name: Kendall Moore
Position: Tight end
Year: Senior
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 241
Hometown: Chicago, Ill.
High School: Neal F. Simeon
2015 Stats: Moore entered the season switching out his TE spot for center due to depth issues but switched back to TE in August. He only played in three games last year while injuries sidelined him for the rest (a year after a concussion cost him a big chunk of 2014). He caught three passes for 31 yards.

2016 Projections: Moore enters the season at No. 2 on the post-spring depth chart behind Cam MacPherson but the two of them plus Josh Parris should all see ample playing time assuming they stay healthy. Because he's such a good blocker, that gives Moore a leg-up in terms of usefulness for this offense.

How'd He Get Here: Moore was actually committed to Western Michigan initially, but the opportunity to play tight end is what drew Moore to play at Syracuse.

What Recruiting Sights Say: 247 - 3 star, ESPN - 3 star, Scout - 3 star, Rivals - See the theme here? 3 star.

Last 2 Marcellus mills - which date to the 1800s - likely to be demolished (PS; Hannagan)

Two crumbling mills, the last of their kind on what had been a thriving manufacturing area on Nine Mile Creek in Marcellus, will likely be torn down this summer.

The lower Crown Mill, in the village of Marcellus, and the Martisco Paper Co. mill, in the town of Marcellus, are located about a half mile from each other on North Street Road. Both have become unsafe and must be taken down, officials for both municipalities said.

The Crown mill, 71 North St., is "an attractive nuisance. Kids go in there," said Marcellus Mayor John Curtain. "It represents a lot of history. My own grandfather worked there for God's sake."

Marcellus was well-known for its mills which for almost two centuries produced paper, wool, flour and other goods with power that was at first provided by water from Nine Mile Creek. Gradually all of the mills closed, with the last being Martisco Paper.

At one point the lower Crown Mill housed little shops. The building, however, crumbled despite attempts by a developer to turn it into apartments and retail.

The village took down a portion of the lower Crown mill in 2011 because the section was structurally unsound, said Code Enforcement Officer Bill Reagan.
