Programmer's Day, also known as the Day of the Programmer, is a professional day that is celebrated in Russian Federation on the 256th (hexadecimal 100th, or the 28th) day of each year (September 13 during common years and on September 12 in leap years).
The number 256 (28) was chosen because it is the number of distinct values that can be represented with a byte, a value well known to programmers. 256 is also the highest power of two that is less than 365, the number of days in a common year.

Untold stories and biggest moments from last year’s last-second stunner vs. Purdue (PS; Leiker)
Syracuse football’s 2022 home victory over Purdue was one of the biggest games of the season.
The instant classic in the JMA Wireless Dome stood at just 10-9 entering the fourth quarter, with SU barely in the lead. Forty-two points were scored in the final 15 minutes of a wild, 32-29 win.
It began to turn national attention toward the Orange that would linger through a stinging loss to Clemson four weeks later, and moved SU one game closer to its first bowl berth since 2018.
Oronde Gadsden II’s game-winning catch catapulted him into the spotlight and helped propel him to All-ACC honors last year and this preseason.
We rewound the tape and talked with Dino Babers and players to revisit some of the biggest moments and share untold stories from the Orange win.
A top receiver goes down, marking SU’s 3rd season-ending injury
Prior to the play where the Orange secured its third win of the season, it suffered a personnel loss that subtly changed the course of the season.
Wide receiver Isaiah Jones re-aggravated a right shoulder injury on the second-to-last Syracuse play of the game. Jones said Tuesday — while grabbing at the shoulder he injured — that the moment the injury happened, he knew he was done for the season.
He scored Syracuse’s first touchdown late in the third quarter, kicking off the back-and-forth scoring that turned the game from a low-scoring affair into a barn burner.
Babers has since said he’d been told by wide receivers coach Michael Johnson that Jones was the best receiver on the team.

Syracuse football hosted several recruits for its 48-7 win over Western Michigan. One of those was Millville (NJ) High quarterback Jacob Zamot, who has been on the Orange radar for quite some time.
"The game was awesome," Zamot said. "A huge blowout win. I had a great time as always at Cuse."
The atmosphere and fan support stood out to Zamot.
"I love the Dome, the fans are awesome and it's so loud," Zamot said. "Love the light show after every touchdown and at the start of the fourth quarter. It's definitely an amazing place to play."
Previously, Zamot visited for Junior Day and during spring practice. His return trip signals mutual interest on both ends still despite no offer.
"I spoke with Dennis Thomas (Director of High School Relations) and the assistant quarterbacks coach," Zamot said. "They said they are continuing to watch my game film. I also spoke with coach Lynch and he said to keep working hard because they are talking about me so I'm not giving up on Syracuse.

Syracuse Mourns the Passing of Mike Williams - Syracuse University Athletics (cuse.com)
Former Orange standout and five-year NFL star Mike Williams passed away on Tuesday. Williams was reportedly involved in a construction site accident last week. He was 36 years old.
"We're saddened to learn of the tragic passing of former Syracuse student-athlete Mike Williams," said Director of Athletics John Wildhack. "We extend our deepest sympathies to Mike's family, friends and everyone in the Syracuse football family who knew Mike."
Williams was a star wide receiver at Syracuse for three seasons, where he still ranks in the top-10 of numerous statistical categories. He holds the program record for consecutive games with a touchdown reception (10), and his 133 receptions ranks ninth on the program's all-time list. He ranks eighth in yards (2,044) and is third in yards per game (70.5) for his career.
After his time with the Orange, he was a fourth round NFL Draft selection by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2010 draft. He'd play four seasons with the Bucs before spending the 2014 season with his hometown Buffalo Bills. Williams finished his career with 223 catches for 3,089 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Syracuse football: Duke’s Mayo Bowl O’Meter moves up again this week (TNIAAM; Chiappone)
With week two of college football behind us, the Syracuse Orange are off and running following back-to-back wins versus Colgate and Western Michigan.
More importantly: the new Duke’s Mayo Bowl O’Meter continues to be pointing up, and really, that’s what matters more than anything.
If you recall, we rolled out the Duke’s Mayo Bowl O’Meter for this season to carry on the legacy left behind by the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl O’Meter.
As Duke’s Mayo would say, it’s got twang, and so too does this year’s Orange thus far. Syracuse shut out Colgate 65-0 and recently took care of business versus Western Michigan in a comfortable 48-7 win.

In this week’s SP+ rankings Syracuse move up 12 spots to 28th with the offense 44th (Brand!) while the defense ranks 27th. The Orange are ranked between Louisville and Wisconsin. SP+ has Purdue 61st this week (61st on offense and 67th on defense).
Syracuse moves up 9 spots in the Football Power Index to 18th between Oregon State and FPI predicts the Orange for 9 wins now and gives them an 98% chance of making a bowl game. Purdue is 59th in the FPI this week.
ESPN’s ACC columnist Andrea Adelson has Syracuse 6th this week between Wake and Louisville while David Hale has the Orange 8th again, between Louisville and Pitt. Eric Mac Lain has Syracuse 7th between Louisville and Wake.

Syracuse football: Dino Babers’s Purdue Week updates (TNIAAM; Ostrowski)
The 2-0 Syracuse Orange make their first trek out of CNY this weekend for a rematch with Purdue. Before heading to Indiana, catch up with the latest from Coach Babers:
Injury Report
“No news is good news” ... right? Hopefully that’s true because there was not much said about the status of several injured Orange players. Oronde Gadsden left the game against Western Michigan with an ankle injury, and after the game, Babers confirmed that his other ankle had been bothering him already. There was no update on his status, other than that he would be examined by a doctor Monday evening. He’s listed with an “OR” designation on the depth chart.David Wohlabaugh Jr. is also listed as an “OR” at the right tackle spot. It’s worth noting that he was seen entering the football complex on crutches and with a boot on his left foot - though not a true walking boot. Hopefully that indicates it’s not a fracture, but we won't know more until Saturday at the earliest.
Fellow linemen Kalan Ellis and Joe More have a shot to return this week. Garrett Shrader previously said he expects them to be back, while Babers is hopeful, but not certain, that they’ll dress in West Lafayette.
Finally, nothing was said about specialist Trebor Pena.
Rock Solid Defense
There have been plenty of faces rotating in and out of Rocky Long’s 3-3-5 so far, especially on the defensive line. The group of Terry Lockett, Kevon Darton, Caleb Okechukwu, Elijah Fuentes-Cundiff, Chase Simmons, and Braylen Ingraham were all within the 20-30 snap range against WMU. Babers said that building up that versatility across the board is a focus.
Linebacker Stefon Thompson is still being eased back from last season’s injury. He did not play in the second half after stepping in for 17 snaps in the first 30 minutes. It was enough time for three tackles, including the sack pictured above.

After waiting through several hours of weather delays, the Virginia Tech Hokies lost a hard-fought game at home to Purdue, 24-17. Grant Wells and Kyron Drones combined to throw for 275 yards, but as a team the Hokies only gained 286 yards against a tough Boilermakers defense. Hudson Card completed 23-34 for 248 yards for Purdue and they scored three rushing touchdowns in the win.

A defensive stop for Boston College to hold onto a 3 point lead with 2 minutes left after a lengthy weather delay was enough for the Eagles to claim the 31-28 win over Holy Cross. Thomas Castellanos made his first start and threw for 204 yards and 2 touchdowns while rushing for 69 yards.

After a lengthy weather delay and a comeback, Virginia lost a heartbreaker to James Madison at home, 36-35. Cavaliers QB Anthony Colandrea looked strong in his Scott Stadium debut, throwing for 377 yards on 20 of 26 passing and 2 touchdowns, both of which went to Mike Hollins. Malik Washington carried the ball 5 times for 119 yards in the loss.

The comeback effort fell just short for Pitt, as they took a loss at home to Cincinnati, 27-21. Panthers QB Phil Jurkovec found the end zone 3 times through the air despite throwing for just 179 yards in the game. WR Konata Mumpfield caught four passes for 53 yards and two scores. Cincinnati RB Corey Kiner had a great game on the ground for the Bearcats with 153 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.

Miami erased a 10-point deficit and turned it into a 48-33 victory over No. 23 Texas A&M. The game came to a halt with just less than 2 minutes to go after a hard hit led to a scary-looking injury to Kam Kinchens. On the stat sheet, QB Tyler Van Dyke played a terrific game to lead the Hurricanes to victory. He threw for 374 yards on 21-30 passing and 5 touchdowns. Xavier Restrepo was electric for Miami: he caught 6 passes for 126 yards, but it was Jacolby George who cashed in. The Canes wideout caught 5 passes for 94 yards, and three of those catches were for touchdowns.

After taking just a 7 point lead into the halftime locker room, Clemson exploded in the second half to take a big 66-17 home victory. QB Cade Klubnik recovered from an early fumble and interception to go 28-37 for 315 yards and 4 touchdowns. Beaux Collins had 7 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown on the afternoon, and the Clemson defense was stout, allowing just 73 total yards of offense for the Buccaneers.

After a two-hour weather delay, Wake Forest earned a solid week 2 victory over Vanderbilt, 36-20 at home. The Deacs had a pair of 100-yard rushers in the win, Demond Claiborne (165) and Tate Carney (117). Mitch Griffis was solid under center, throwing 17-26 and 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

In a matchup of teams from the state of North Carolina, No. 17 North Carolina defeated Appalachian State, 40-34 in a 2-OT back-and-forth thriller. With British Brooks injured, Omarion Hampton took over the running game for the Heels in a career night. He ran the ball 26 times for 234 yards and 3 touchdowns. Drake Maye picked up 265 total yards and a rushing touchdown. App State running back Nate Noel rushed for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns, and wide receiver Dashaun Davis caught 7 passes for 117 yards and 1 touchdown.

Two full weeks of college football are now in the books, and it was another successful one for the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Highlighted by Miami's win over No. 23 Texas A&M, ACC schools went a combined 10-4 against non-conference opponents in week two, bumping the league's overall record to 18-6.
Unlike week one, there isn't a ton of significant shuffling in the power rankings as whole. Most of it comes as a result of just three teams after the Hurricanes' earned a statement win, and NC State and Pitt suffering decisive losses at home.
So where do things currently stand in the conference following the first two weeks of football? Check out our week three ACC power rankings below:
1. Florida State Seminoles
Record: 2-0, 0-0 ACCLast Week's Ranking: No. 1
Week 2 Result: W, 66-13 vs. Southern Miss
Putting a beatdown on Southern Miss doesn't have the same allure as taking down a top-five opponent in LSU, but putting up the most in the Mike Norvell era is certainly noteworthy. Whether it was the first team or second team in, Florida State was determined to not produce a letdown on short rest. Running back Trey Benson, who ran for three touchdowns, was particularly impressive.
2. North Carolina Tar Heels
Record: 2-0, 0-0 ACCLast Week's Ranking: No. 2
Week 2 Result: W (OT), 40-34 vs. Appalachian State
Just when I thought North Carolina had a good defense, this game happened. Sure, App State is no slouch, but allowing them to put up nearly 500 yards after what UNC did against South Carolina the week before is certainly a turn. Fortunately for the Tar Heels, running back Omarion Hampton had the sliders turned to Rookie difficulty, and quarterback Drake Maye is still pretty good.
3. Duke Blue Devils
Record: 2-0, 1-0 ACCLast Week's Ranking: No. 4
Week 2 Result: W, 42-7 vs. Lafayette
Facing an FCS school is certainly not the same as facing Clemson, but the result was surely the same for Duke. The Blue Devils' running back tandem of Jordan Waters and Jaquez Moore looked sharp, quarterback Riley Leonard was efficient in the time he did see on the field, and the defense looked mostly dominant.
4. Clemson Tigers
Record: 1-1. 0-1 ACCLast Week's Ranking: No. 3
Week 2 Result: W, 66-17 vs. Charleston Southern
Talk about having two completely different halves. Clemson found themselves clinging to a 24-17 lead at halftime, only to outscore Charleston Southern 42-0 in the second half. As competitive as this game was in the first half, against an FCS team no less, the Tigers still out-gained the Buccaneers 679-74. Quarterback Cade Klubnik had a solid day as well, rebounding from an early pick-six to throw for 315 and four touchdowns.
5. Miami Hurricanes
Record: 2-0, 0-0 ACCLast Week's Ranking: No. 7
Week 2 Result: W, 48-33 vs. Texas A&M
Alas, Miami has their early signature win under second-year head coach Mario Cristobal. The Canes impressed in all three phases against No. 23 Texas A&M. Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke (374 yards, 5 TD) looks to be back to form, the defense forced three turnovers, and Miami even got a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. We just have to hope that All-American safety Kam Kinchens is okay after having to be carted off in the fourth quarter.
6. Louisville Cardinals
Record: 2-0, 1-0 ACCLast Week's Ranking: No. 6
Week 2 Result: W, 56-0 vs. Murray State
Louisville's matchup with Murray State was certainly far less dramatic than their game against Georgia Tech the week before. Running back Jawhar Jordan certainly looked the part (135 yards, 2 TD), as did their defense after forcing three turnovers and pitching a shutout. The Cardinals just have to get more consistency from quarterback Jack Plummer.
7. NC State Wolfpack
Record: 1-1, 0-0 ACCLast Week's Ranking: No. 5
Week 2 Result: L, 45-24 vs. Notre Dame
With this game being played in Raleigh, I certainly thought NC State had a chance in this one. Boy was I wrong. With quarterback Brennan Armstrong throwing three interceptions and the Wolfpack failing to rush for over 100 yards, it put their elite defense in a terrible spot. Granted, Sam Hartman and Notre Dame look the part of a potential title contender, but you can't beat anyone playing like this.
8. Syracuse Orange
Record: 2-0, 0-0 ACCLast Week's Ranking: No. 9
Week 2 Result: W, 48-7 vs. Western Michigan
Syracuse's competition over the first two weeks of the season certainly hasn't been the cream of the crop, but the Orange have looked good right out of the gates, producing a pair of blowouts. LeQuint Allen might have only rushed for 20 yards against Western Michigan, but three of his eight carries went for touchdowns. Time will tell how 'Cuse looks when they face Power Five competition.

Friedlander: Resetting expectations for every ACC football team - Saturday Road (saturdayroad.com; Friedlander)
Dabo Swinney did his best to put a positive spin on Clemson’s opening week loss at Duke by saying that the only goal his Tigers can’t accomplish this season is going undefeated.
It’s a factual statement.
All of their other goals, including an ACC championship and a return to the College Football Playoff after a 2-year absence, are in fact still on the table.
The only thing that’s changed for Swinney and his Tigers is their expectations.
And Clemson isn’t the only ACC facing that reality.
We are only 2 weeks into the new season, but enough football has been played for some to lower the bar on what they hope to accomplish and others to begin reaching for even greater heights.
With that mind, let’s start recalibrating those expectations:
Boston College
With 78% of last year’s production returning, All-ACC guard Christian Mahogany healthy again and a schedule that avoids defending league champion Clemson, the Eagles had every reason to believe that they were capable of making at least the 3-win improvement over 2022 to earn bowl eligibility.The key was getting off to a fast start against an easy nonconference slate. So much for easy. After an overtime loss to Northern Illinois and a close call against Holy Cross, the focus has gone from getting into the postseason to making as much improvement as possible in hopes of saving coach Jeff Hafley’s job.
Clemson
“People are probably going to give up on us and throw us away,” Swinney said after the Duke game. “But I ain’t throwing this team away.”Swinney might not. But his team has shown a propensity for throwing away its own chances through its 2 games. Turnovers, especially in the red zone, have plagued the Tigers. Even if they clean up those mistakes, they’ll have their hands full when Florida State comes to Death Valley in 2 weeks.
A loss would essentially put them 3 games behind the Seminoles in the ACC standings and all but end any Playoff hopes with 8 games still left to play.
At that point, the expectations become similar to those of 2021. Get to the 10-win plateau. Go to the best bowl possible. And start building momentum for next season.
Duke
Remember the narrative about how the Blue Devils could be better than they were last year, but have a worse record because of their schedule’s degree of difficulty?You can go scrap that line of thinking thanks to their impressive 28-7 win against Clemson
Big boy schedule and all, coach Mike Elko’s team is now a legitimate threat to be 1 of the 2 teams playing for the ACC championship in Charlotte on the first Saturday in December.
Florida State
No need to adjust expectations. The Seminoles already had their sights set high. As did others for them, as evidenced by their top-10 rankings in both major preseason polls.Those projections have only been enhanced by their impressive Labor Day Sunday beatdown of LSU in Orlando.
With playmakers all over the field on both sides of the ball, including numerous additions from the transfer portal, FSU has transformed itself from a trendy Playoff pick to a legitimate threat to win the national championship.
Georgia Tech
The road to 6 wins and bowl eligibility was already narrow to begin with. It got even narrower after allowing a halftime lead to slip away in an opening night loss to Louisville.While nothing is impossible, especially the way Texas A&M transfer Haynes King has performed, the focus for 1st-year coach Brent Key should be more on big-picture improvement rather than the number of wins.
Louisville
Expectations, realistic or not, were sent through the roof the minute Jeff Brohm was hired to coach his alma mater. Louisville fans have been clamoring for the return of the former Cardinals quarterback for years.Now they have him. And he hasn’t let anyone down yet.
At 2-0 with a conference schedule that doesn’t include Florida State, Clemson or North Carolina – the top 3 teams in the preseason poll – it might be time to start thinking of Louisville in terms of more than just a pleasant surprise.
Miami
Is the swagger finally back?It’s still too early to know for sure. But it’s safe to say that nobody in the ACC has had their expectations raised more since the start of the season than Mario Cristobal’s Hurricanes.
Saturday’s win against Texas A&M was significant because of the result. But it was even more important because of the way it was achieved.
Rallying from an early 10-point deficit, getting 5 touchdown passes from Tyler Van Dyke, forcing 3 turnovers and scoring on special teams didn’t just validate Cristobal’s offseason roster overhaul. It also upped the ante considerably moving forward.
North Carolina
The Tar Heels’ stock soared after an encouraging defensive performance in an opening win against South Carolina.While optimism has been tempered at least somewhat after a double-overtime survival Appalachian State and an unfavorable ruling from the NCAA on top receiver Tez Walker, their 2-0 start keeps them on track to reach their difficult 3-game closing stretch with a shot at returning to the ACC Championship Game for the 2nd straight season.
NC State
At 1-1 with a win at UConn and a loss to Notre Dame, the Wolfpack are right where they were expected to be.But 2 disappointing performances from an offense that was supposed to be energized by the arrival of new coordinator Robert Anae and transfer quarterback Brennan Armstrong have lowered the bar considerably.
Pittsburgh
The Panthers find themselves in a similar situation to NC State. Like Armstrong with the Wolfpack, Pitt’s transfer quarterback Phil Jurkovec has yet to find a rhythm in his reunion with his former offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr.There’s still time for it to develop. And they’ve yet to play their first conference game. But after Saturday’s loss to Cincinnati, with another challenging rivalry game against West Virginia coming up this week, Pat Narduzzi’s team is starting to look like a middle-of-the-pack team rather than an ACC contender.
Syracuse
It’s tough to tell much about the Orange because of the caliber of the competition they’ve faced. But after outscoring Colgate and Western Michigan by a combined 113-7 margin, Dino Babers’ team is looking a lot more dangerous than most thought....

It was 1953 when the Big Ten and Atlantic Coast Conference first met in a nonconference football game, and it was a good one on a cloudy October afternoon in Durham, North Carolina.
The ACC was an upstart conference in its first year and hoping Duke, its best team, would show up well against a struggling Purdue squad from the first collegiate conference, founded in 1897. With 37 seconds left, backup quarterback Jerry Barger scored on a bootleg run to give Duke a 20-14 win.
Since then, Big Ten and ACC teams have squared off 175 times in regular-season games and bowls. The Big Ten is 101-73-2 all time, but the ACC certainly has had its shining moments.
There are a total of seven Big Ten-ACC regular-season games this season, most ever in a single year and the result of a confluence of scheduling arrangements made over the past decade.

Week 3 Preview: Minnesota-North Carolina is the ACC game of the week (usatoday.com; Haley)
One week after Duke stunned the college football world by taking down conference juggernaut Clemson, the unranked Miami Hurricanes took down then-No. 23 Texas A&M on Saturday to jump into the Top 25 themselves.
Now, the Atlantic Coast Conference boasts five of the top 25 teams in the nation, including playoff-hopeful No. 3 Florida State. None of these five lock horns this week, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still storylines to be found within the ACC.
No. 18 North Carolina, led by star quarterback Drake Maye, will welcome fellow unbeaten Minnesota to town, and Georgia Tech will attempt to upset No. 19 Ole Miss.
Here are the conference’s Week 3 games to watch.
Minnesota Golden Gophers at North Carolina Tar Heels

Last year’s Coastal Division champion, No. 18 North Carolina has its sights set on a repeat championship appearance. So far, so good through two games, and the Tar Heels managed victories in both their first two games, but each not without their stress.
Quarterback Drake Maye kept South Carolina around in the second half with two costly interceptions in Week 1, and UNC needed two overtimes to dispatch Appalachian State on Saturday. Maye, widely considered one of the three best quarterbacks in the nation and likely an early NFL Draft pick come April, is off to a relatively unassuming start to his season. He’s completed 72.6% of his passes thus far, but he’s thrown only two touchdowns, although he handled the game-winner over the Mountaineers with his legs.
The stress doesn’t seem to stop this weekend, with Minnesota coming to town for a primetime showdown. The Golden Gophers pulled off a miracle comeback against Nebraska to open the season before a sound victory over Eastern Michigan in Week 2, and head coach P.J. Fleck’s squad has won at least nine games in each of its last three full seasons.
Maryland, Virginia renew old ACC rivalry (cbssports.com; FLM)
Maryland moved to the Big Ten in 2014 and storied rivalries with longtime ACC opponents, particularly Virginia, went by the wayside.
The Cavaliers and Terrapins reconvene for the first time since 2013 when Maryland (2-0) hosts Virginia (0-2) under the lights on Friday in College Park, Md.
A fast start is the focus of the Terps after stumbling out of the gate last Saturday against Charlotte. Maryland entered as a 24.5-point favorite, but trailed 14-0 less than four minutes into the contest, didn't score a touchdown in the first half and only led by three entering the fourth quarter.
The Terps eventually pulled away with three touchdowns in the fourth, including Roman Hemby's 15-yard scamper that sealed Maryland's 38-20 victory.
"Nobody in that locker room is excited about how we played," head coach Michael Locksley said. "But we overcame some early adversity which kind of showed me we're the type of team that I thought we could be. We battled back after a slow start and I didn't see anybody panic."
Hemby rushed for 162 yards, while Taulia Tagovailoa completed 25 of 36 passes for 287 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.
The Cavaliers are recovering from Saturday's emotional 36-35 loss to James Madison in the team's first home game since three Virginia football players were killed in a campus shooting last November.
Virginia led 35-24 entering the fourth quarter before a lightning delay halted the game for nearly 70 minutes. The Cavaliers then surrendered two touchdowns in the final nine minutes, including the go-ahead score with 55 seconds remaining.

Week 2 ACC Football Players of the Week
The Atlantic Coast Conference Football Players of the Week have been recognized for their standout performances in Week 2. The selections are determined by a vote of a select media panel. The following are this week’s honorees:
QUARTERBACK – Tyler Van Dyke, Miami, QB, Glastonbury, CT
Van Dyke threw for five touchdowns in Miami's 48-33 romp of No. 23 Texas A&M on Saturday, marking a new career high. He finished 21-for-30 for 374 yards with zero interceptions, leading Miami to a rally from an early 10-point deficit into a win over a ranked opponent.
CO-RUNNING BACK – Omarion Hampton, North Carolina, RB, Clayton, NC
Hampton rushed for a career-high 234 yards on 26 carries with three touchdowns against Appalachian State. In addition, Hampton’s 68-yard touchdown run was a career-best, as the Tar Heels moved to 2-0 on the season with a 40-34 double-overtime win. He became Carolina’s first 200-yard rusher since Ty Chandler gained 213 yards against Wake Forest in 2021. He also became the 27th Tar Heel to ever rush for 200 yards or more in a game.
CO-RUNNING BACK – Demond Claiborne, Wake Forest, RB, Aylett, VA
In his first-career start, Clairborne led a rushing attack against the Commodores where the Demond Deacons totaled 288 yards on Saturday afternoon which is the most for a Wake Forest team since the Deacs recorded 299 yards against Campbell on Sept. 19, 2020. Overall, Claiborne tallied 165 yards on the ground on 26 carries with an average of 6.3 yards per rush. Additionally, his 165 yards are the fourth-highest total in the Dave Clawson era and the most since Cade Carney tallied 223 yards against Duke in 2018.
RECEIVER – Jacolby George, Miami, WR, Lauderhill, FL
George started and put together the best performance of his career in Miami's 48-33 win over No. 23 Texas A&M. George had the first three-touchdown receiving game by a Hurricane since 2010, catching scores of 3, 11 and 64 yards - the last one coming on a supreme individual effort in the fourth quarter that sealed the outcome. He finished the game with five catches for 94 yards and three scores.
CO-OFFENSIVE LINEMAN – D’Mitri Emmanuel, Florida State, RG, Charlotte, NC
Emmanuel played up front for the Seminoles’ offensive line that allowed the offense to run for 306 yards on 37 carries, an average of 8.3 yards per rush, led by running back Trey Benson, who ran for three touchdowns on just nine carries in a 66-13 home win over Southern Miss.
CO-OFFENSIVE LINEMAN – Anez Cooper, Miami, RG, Pleasant Grove, AL
Miami's top-graded offensive lineman from Saturday's 48-33 win over No. 23 Texas A&M, Cooper started at right guard and helped deliver a dominating performance against one of the nation's top defensive fronts. The Hurricanes totaled 451 total yards, outgaining the explosive Aggies in earning a ranked win.
DEFENSIVE LINEMAN – Kyle Kennard, Georgia Tech, DE, Atlanta, GA
Kennard turned in one of the most dominant defensive performances in school history with an interception, forced fumble and a fumble recovery in Georgia Tech's 48-13 win over South Carolina State. The defensive end became only the second Georgia Tech student-athlete since 2000 with an interception, forced fumble, and fumble recovery in a game (Bruce Jordan-Swilling at Virginia - 2017) and only the sixth GT player since 2000 with an interception and fumble recovery in the same contest. Kennard's INT in the first quarter set up Georgia Tech's first touchdown of the game and his forced fumble and fumble recovery in the third quarter set up the Yellow Jackets' final score of the day, helping Tech hold a 14-0 advantage for the day on points off turnovers. In addition to the takeaways, Kennard finished with five tackles and a half-tackle-for-loss in the victory.
LINEBACKER – Keli Lawson, Virginia Tech, LB, Stephens City, VA
Lawson registered a career-high 14 tackles, which was tied for the team lead versus Purdue. His career day included seven solo tackles, a half sack and a pass breakup against the Boilermakers.

Micron CEO to be a keynote speaker at Syracuse My Dream Summit (PS; Coin)
Micron Technology is the lead sponsor of the business networking event, My Dream Summit, this year, and the company’s chief executive officer will be one of three keynote speakers.
Sanjay Mehrotra, who has led Micron since 2017, will speak Friday morning at the summit at the Oncenter Convention Center. Mehrotra’s talk will be titled “Building a New Era of Opportunity for Central New York.”
Micron last year announced it would build a massive semiconductor manufacturing plant in the town of Clay, spending up to $100 billion over the next 20 years. When fully built out, the complex is expected to employ 9,000 workers and create 40,000 additional spinoff jobs, Micron has said.

Well known CNY apple farm closes U-pick orchard this year due to late spring frost (PS; Cazentre)
Critz Farms in Cazenovia has been forced to close its pick-your-own apple orchard this season due to the effects of a devastating frost in late May.
While the annual U-pick won’t happen this year, Critz will have apples for sale on the stand, and will also offer many of its other fall activities, including its corn maze, cider pressing and pumpkin picking. It will also continue to serve its house-made beers and hard ciders from its tasting room at 3232 Rippleton Road (Route 13), south of the village of Cazenovia.
Critz Farms annual Fall Festival will go on as planned from Sept. 16 to Oct. 22, but without the U-pick for apples. The farm is also a big destination for Christmas trees later in the year, and that has not been affected.
Owner Matthew Critz called the effects of the May frost highly unusual. The temperature dipped to 23 degrees for two hours overnight on May 18, after many of the apple trees had started to bloom.

Led Zeppelin tribute, featuring Jason Bonham, coming to Landmark Theatre in Syracuse (PS; Cazentre)
From “Whole Lotta Love” to “Stairway to Heaven” to “Kashmir,” some the classic songs of the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin will fill the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse fall.
Led Zeppelin Evening, led by Jason Bonham, takes the Landmark stage at 8 p.m. Nov. 22.
Bonham is the son of original Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, who died in 1980. The younger Bonham performed frequently with his father’s remaining bandmates, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, over the years.
The show features songs from such albums as Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, Led Zeppelin IV and Physical Graffiti.
“This was a hugely enjoyable show, because of the familiarity of the tunes, the uproarious atmosphere with an enthusiastic crowd, and because of the concrete lineage of Bonham and his efforts to preserve and honor his late father’s legacy and music,” a reviewer wrote of a Led Zeppelin Evening show at tahoeonstage.com.
