NBCSN's Brian Engblom, 60, Shakes Off Puck to Face During Penquins-Sharks Telecast (AP)

NBC Sports Network analyst Brian Engblom needed stitches after taking a puck to his forehead late in the second period of the Pittsburgh Penguins' 3-2 shootout victory over the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night.

He did win a bit of praise, though, from Penguins star Sidney Crosby, who tipped Brenden Dillon's outlet pass over the glass with 1:42 left in the period.

The puck deflected right at Engblom, who was broadcasting from the ice-level area between the teams' benches at CONSOL Energy Center.

"I felt bad," a smiling Crosby said during a postgame interview with Engblom. "You were back out there pretty quick. I give you credit for getting back out here."

I never thought the world was complete until we had a bowl in the non-stop excitement that is Little Rock.

Seriously: Always wondered why there never was an attempt to have a bowl game at the Dome. Indoor venue; sure it's kind of cold and maybe a little snowy outside, but who really gives a snit at that time of year? People still warm and fuzzy after late December holidays. Not like trudging through 2 feet of snow for a late January/anytime February BB game. Thoughts?

Was the SU Athletic department in charge of this ride?
