SU Football Target Robert Washington Knows Where He Will Commit (PS; Bailey)


The hottest topic in the Syracuse football community since the Orange finished a forgettable 3-9 campaign three-plus months ago has been the recruitment of SouthLake Christian (Huntersville, N.C.) Academy four-star running back Robert Washington.

The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Washington has more than 40 scholarship offers, including ones from Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and a host of other national powers, but he has long thought highly of Syracuse.

Over the last two months, he's announced a top-six list of schools that includes Syracuse, along with TCU, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida and Michigan.

On April 25, he's expected to announce his verbal commitment. But 10 days ahead of time, Washington has already made up his mind up, according to Bleacher Report's Tyler Donohue.

Drew Robinson Hired as SU's Director of Football Operations (PS; Bailey)


Drew Robinson, formerly a Rutgers Athletics official, has been hired as Syracuse's director of football operations, according to Mike McAllister of CuseNation.com.

Robinson tweeted Wednesday afternoon that it would be his last day at RU and soon after Mike Quick of MSG Varsity tweeted that Robinson was headed to Syracuse, though he did not specify the capacity.

The Robinson hire looks like a very good hire, despite his last name!
 
That would be awesome. IMHO, the focus should be on making the ACC a real league, where all the teams play each other as regularly as possible.

Trying to preserve some aspects of the old ACC or Big East is counterproductive and needs to end.
