I would guess it's just the normal Southern late afternoon thunderstorm. If it happens it should only last a half hour or so.

Back in 2015 LSU's opening game against McNeese St was canceled due to lightning. In 2004 LSU played Oregon State. The middle of the game was delayed over an hour for lightning. LSU eventually won the game 22 to 21 in 3OT.
