GMAC / Blackwell / AO to Siena [Official]

This job is expected to come open this week; any insight if GMac had interest in the past? Is he aiming higher? Would seem like a fit.
Has it been confirmed that Gerry is going? I think this is good for the program and hope they hire an outside big to recruit bigs, coach bigs, and explain to Red how to use bigs.

Has the Eagle landed here? I haven't seen confirmation yet that he's taken the job. Isn't Cornell open? Wouldn't that be a much more attractive destination?

Rumors being floated that Canisius is parting ways with HC Witherspoon as well...

GMAC homecoming sells a few more tickets than your average tomato can and we get to do Beat Siena week again. It's all winning.
Lose, and it’s all anti-Red, should have hired GMac, etc.
Before you say lose to Siena, I give you Colgate.

Red has to make the right choice here, hopefully he doesn’t just make an offer out of loyalty.

Probably the courtside box for Weitsman holding things up.
Had the same thought the other day. The Siena people will let things roll to get a program.

Speculation here:
1. Siena athletic department is operationally incompetent. Hopefully, GMAC thinks through the pros and cons of working for an operationally incompetent organization.
2. Siena is not the only school pursuing GMAC and a bidding war is taking place behind the scenes.

Either way, it seems a little odd that this is being dragged out when coaches involved in the NCAA tournament pretty much had official announcements of where they were going within 48 hours of losing.

I'd recommend that Gerry could probably get in on the Louisville job, but their AD is a disaster too.

You are saying it's not official then??

The former sounds about right. Hopefully GMAC got good terms and has some aces up his sleeve. His roster will need it.
