PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills linebacker Nigel Bradham said Tuesday he doesn't want to be a distraction to the team after police said they ticketed him for marijuana possession during a weekend traffic stop.
"It's just a legal issue," Bradham said while at training camp in Pittsford. "I made a mistake, that's it."
He said he anticipates some sort of action from the team and National Football League but doesn't know yet what that will be.
The 23-year-old starter was given an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana after he was stopped at about 2 a.m. Saturday and an officer smelled marijuana, town of Tonawanda Police Lt. Nicholas Bado said. Bradham turned over a baggy containing a small amount of the drug. There was no indication he had been using it while driving, Bado said.
Bills general manager Doug Whaley said the incident amounted to a violation of the personal conduct rule and would be addressed by the NFL.
"It's under review as we speak

Thank goodness it's just a legal issue, and not a moral one, or a religious one. I suppose he is happy it's not a health issue?

As far as a legal issue, it's a non story. Its not a felony, its not a misdemeanor, it's a violation; it's like getting a ticket for littering.

Sit out a half in a preseason game and call it a day.

It shouldn't be a legal issue or a moral issue.

It should be strictly a health issue.

Such a waste of time and money.

I think it is funny because he is basically telling Marone that he is going to smoke dope, pay the fines and sit out a few games
without changing a thing. yup that bag of weed just cost him a whole more in money

Some would say the same thing about college & pro sports. :)

Great comparison.

Putting people in jail for eating a plant versus Americans watching, playing and enjoying a sport that generates a lot of revenue and employees a lot of people.

Why was this crap about buffalo bills which isn't syracuse football related posted? Come on man! It's the buffalo bills. They aren't relevant. Go post on their blog. Please
