Cascade/Maverik Media Poll: UNC, Maryland Tied at No. 2

The Cascade/Maverik Media Poll is tight near the top in the Week 10 voting.

Notre Dame is still the clear No. 1, earning 24 first-place votes.

But there's a tie at No. 2, with North Carolina and Maryland earning the same number of votes. Maryland (12-1) has the head-to-head edge over the Tar Heels (12-2), but the Terps' last three victories have been one-goal games.

Two Patriot League teams — Colgate and Bucknell — enter into the Top 20 ahead of the league's tournament.

Brown vaults into the Top 10 after its win against Cornell over the weekend.

USILA DI Coaches' Poll: UNC Gets the Edge Over Maryland at No. 2

The USILA DI Coaches' Poll features Notre Dame as the top dog, earning all 22 first-place votes.

The much-debated No. 2 spot remains in Tar Heel country, with UNC having a slight edge over Maryland. The Tar Heels (12-2) lost to Maryland earlier in the year.

The poll is similar to the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll, which has Maryland and UNC tied at No. 2. Most of the Top 10 is the same, with the exception of Yale and Virginia being flip-flopped.

At the bottom of the poll, the coaches have voted in Loyola at No. 20 as opposed to Bucknell at No. 20 in the media poll.

Nike/LM DI Men's Rankings: Calm Before the Storm

The top seven teams in the rankings remain the same and Albany cracks the top-eight for the first time this year. Notre Dame's dramatic one-goal win over North Carolina didn't drop the Tar Heels at all and the rest of the nation's elite held serve, so to speak, with the exception of Cornell, which lost big to Brown.

Conference tournaments begin this week, starting with the six-team Patriot League bracket and the ACC tournament at PPL Park in Chester, Pa. The former includes four teams ranked between Nos. 15-20 in these rankings, while the latter tournament includes four of the nation's top-six programs. Notre Dame plays Duke and North Carolina plays Syracuse in the ACC semifinals.

The Nike/LM Top 20 will be updated each Monday throughout the season and is determined by the staff of Lacrosse Magazine.
