Cascade/Maverik Media Poll: Denver Drops; Maryland Into Top 5

Syracuse remains No. 1 in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll, but there is movement in the Top 5.

Denver drops to No. 6 in the poll from No. 3 after its loss to Ohio State on Saturday. North Carolina remains No. 2 and has four first-place votes, while Notre Dame rises to No. 3.

This coming weekend sees a Top 5 matchup as Duke visits the Carrier Dome on Sunday on ESPNU.

Maryland enters the Top 5 from No. 8 after holding Villanova to just two goals Saturday. Yale falls into a tie at No. 9 with Marquette, and Johns Hopkins goes down to No. 20.

Ohio State enters the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll at No. 15 after its upset win against Denver. Brown continues to rise in its undefeated campaign, going to No. 12 this week...

USILA DI Coaches' Poll: Denver Remains in Top 5; OSU at No. 17

The Top 5 teams are the same in the USILA DI Coaches' Poll — just in a slightly different order.

Still on top is Syracuse, which earned every first-place vote from the coaches. North Carolina stays at No. 2, and Notre Dame slipped into sole possession of third after being tied with Duke last week.

Denver drops down two spots to No. 5, followed by Maryland. Virginia and Cornell are tied at seventh.

The big winner in the poll is Brown, which jumps to No. 12 from No. 19. Ohio State comes into the poll ranked at No. 17...

Nike/LM Rankings: Jockeying for Position (LaxMag)

No. 1 Syracuse and No. 2 North Carolina remained undefeated, although not without challenges. While top-10 teams Notre Dame, Duke, Cornell and Maryland all won, and get a bump in this week's rankings.

Ohio State's upset of Denver knocks the Pioneers down a few pegs and vaults the Buckeyes from 20th last week to 15th this week. There's plenty of movement elsewhere, but among largely the same teams as last week.

The Nike/LM Top 20 will be updated each Monday throughout the season and is determined by the staff of Lacrosse Magazine...
