Can you summarize for us at work.

Paknis was a GE on Paterno's staff.
Sandusky was like "The Pied Piper" -- always had kids around him.
Paknis thought some of the tickling and such was odd conduct on Sandusky's part.
But he never heard of anything accusing Sandusky of improper behavior, and never witnessed anything.
Said Paterno was maybe the most powerful guy in the state of PA, that he certainly would know what was going on.
Said he believes Paterno is capable of covering this up.

(No real facts -- just impressions and speculation. FWIW, Paknis was himself a victim of childhood sexual about when he was 10 - 12 years old, by a neighbor.)

As ALL4 said he used to coach there and cited a lot of the facts as he saw them and sees them now. For example and furthermore he said JoPa had some racist tendency with respect to not allowing a black qb to play there when he was there, saying that PSU just wasn't ready for that. A black asst. vociferously disagreed. That he felt Paterno was like the Pope. That Sandusky and Paterno wer'ent pals.

Furthermore said essentially it's all smoke and mirrors over the long history with PSU holding themselves up and out over the years as being so virtuous and above the fray with 3 examples of why it's all a BS front (one mentioned above). Another is the front of concerns for academics with Paterno not allowing any classes to be taken that conflict with practice even making kids miss class for any football related concern.

That the whole set up was classic pedophile the way the kids were lured in and there's no doubt about it in his mind it is what it appears. That it made him very uncomfortable seeing the way Sandusky invaided these kids personal space with all the touching he did.

That its so accurate in that respect that it brought him back to a deep dark place, as it was exactly the way he was lured into the same as a child. Got very intense about his anger assoc. with all of it for personal and professional reasons both with respect to the Perp and the enabler(s) as he concerned that this opens up wounds for many others who have been through it. Him being one of them as it made him feel all over again like the 10 year old molested boy he was.

Was severe and emphatic when he said that there's no way Paterno didn't know what's going on there with all of this most especially the '98 allegations and the likely coverup (others too) that he not only knew everything about things related to football but the university in general, so theres no way he didn't know what was going on as well as many others there as well was his opinion. It's an intense listen, especially the end which all should listen to as I'm sure we're forgetting something he said.
