NCState just punched their ticket. One less spot available for the dance.

The upside is it gives us one more opportunity for a big road win next week.

Absolutely not... Watching duke lose is so far is one of the few highlights of the season so far (having done my MS at NCSU and them being as disappointing as Cuse).

Duke is way mediocre. NCSU Defense was basically leave every shooter open and hope they miss in the first half. They are the only ACC team I've seen look worse on D than Cuse but that changed in the second half with Kaptia having his best game of the year. This is the same freshman who never left the bench the last two games so him going off along with Smith career highs in future is no given.

Wow. Smith is incredible

Smith is a unique talent... he even leads the ACC in assists... the problem (besides their atrocious defense) is NCSU will go 3-4 straight possessions where nobody else even touches the ball... so everyone just stands around there is no flow. He's going to get a lot of assists when 99 percent of the time he's the only one with the ball in his hands until he decides to shoot or drive... though he will probably kick it over on his drives better than Gillon or Howard.

Hopefully the youth of their guards will hurt them against the zone. But DSJ won't have any problem penetrating it unfortunately

Their guards are not the problem... they are awful down low on O and D especially rebounding. Abu had a great game and that may change somewhat if they let the freshman Kapita play. Anya put 50 pounds on ... yet still had to play. If you think DC can't move or jump try watching Anya for awhile.

Staff probably would pass on Smith. His wingspan isn't long enough. Beginning to think it's become the only criteria we care about. Which is why we are getting a lot of players who can't shoot off the bounce or handle.

NC State just lost at home to Wake, a team that hasn't had an ACC road win since 2014. They couldn't buy a stop. Wake isn't bad but let's not pretend NC State is some formidable opponent now. This game says a lot about Duke too

Wake has also put up over 90 points in their last two games and that's not even against SU's defense. That's what worries me about them.

Anyone who loses a game by more than 50 pts should be automatically disqualified from March Madness...imo
