With conference play taking over we swing past the midseason point, here are a few observations of the Division I men's lacrosse world over the past eight weeks...
THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE DOME
With all due respect to the top-ranked, 7-0 Syracuse Orange, the Cuse had quite a pleasant winter, unlike many cold-weather teams that could barely get outside for a full practice. Following a full month of preseason work in its brand new, full-field, indoor facility – which Albany, Cornell and numerous other Northeast schools lack – the Orange played six of its first seven games in the Carrier Dome. In its lone outdoor venture, a 14-6 win on March 7 over St John's in Kennesaw, Ga., Syracuse struggled mightily to score in the first half. Don't be surprised if scoring droughts challenge Syracuse at no. 2 Notre Dame on Saturday.
