New AD: Mark Coyle from Boise

Ahh I was at Twin Trees 2 on Milton Ave.[/QUOTE
It tells a ton about a person with which twin trees they eat at. There are only two acceptable twin trees locations. Twin Trees original and twin trees two.

Unless you live just a few mins from one

Is the one on Rt 11 no good?

Exciting hire. Hey, they did something right!

IMO the one on Rt 11 in North Syracuse owned by Mr Ross is the best one by far.

Long wait and tough to get into on a Friday night.

This is fantastic news. I've heard over the last few weeks that football was going to love the hire. I remained skeptical, but this is a helluva good fit.

Fundraising, football, compliant. This is a huge "commit".

Syverud is a stud.

Blasphemy! Having grown up on the west side, I'm somewhat appalled that twin trees even exists outside of Solvay.

Back to the topic at hand...great hire here. Fundraising seems to be his strength. I would think people in charge of athletic gifts should be a wee but nervous. I have a feeling that this guy is going see a bunch of former players in charge and nearly stroke out.

This must be a huge win for Syracuse since it's almost a universal love fest. Also a lot of people seem to want an Orange field.

Can we get a BOOM! ;)

He was a finalist for Pitt too right? How does he stack up with the guy Pitt hired? Curious why they chose elsewhere? Not denying that he looks like a solid hire
No blue and gold clothing

This is the ultimate BOOM!
I have admit that I was worried about this hire with the names that were out there. None of them was really what we needed, which is why I would have opted for a young guy rather than a retread or a guy from a lesser program. I think if we had known Coyle was a candidate we would have picked up the pitch forks and torches and headed for The Hill to demand he be the one.

Coyle is 47, a nice blend of youth and experience an he comes from a lessor conference, but a program that is in a much better place than ours at the moment.
He has good experience in all the areas in which we need help.

There are only 66 P5 jobs, but if you filter for great basketball programs, our job is even more elite than we might think. He could be here for a long time.

Now, I hate that blue field but Orange would be beautiful!

Welcome Coyle family!! Krystan (Doctor of Physical Therapy), Grace, Nicholas and Benjamin.

They got a good guy in Scott Barnes in Utah State. I think Coyle fits us better.

This seems like a solid hire.

He has a strong external background - he knows how to raise money.

He has experience with big time football and basketball programs.

And, apparently had to navigate NCAA compliance issues at Boise.

He should be able to hit the ground running.

It will be interesting to see how/whether the department's culture changes.
