are we still in the mix for Bamba?

Francis03 just think for JB to have the type of dream send off that we all want him to have, we are gonna need to lock up some elite talent ASAP. Seems like we aren't really after anyone seriously who fits that description. Duval, Knox, etc., aren't really likely options, right?

I pretty much got into that on my last podcast. Issue with trying to land top 15 recruits is that the HC needs to be heavily involved. You can't just send Hop, Mac, and Red to do all the pulling and expect to land elite talent. JB hasn't attended a HS game/event that didn't involve his kids for nearly two seasons now. Michael Porter for example, was very interested but JB viewed him as a long shot and never showed him any love. So obviously he lost interest and that situation quickly became dead. We'll continue to get good talent with JB still around but I don't see us landing anybody in the top 15, especially if they're outside of the northeast.

I agree with studs, we desperately have lacked finishers in recent years.

What has really really hurt us is 3 straight rough years from our mid/upperclassmen.

2 years ago 1. jr rak wasn't doing to much(I don't think he was ready), 2. Sophmore Jerami grant was pretty darn good but had his jumpshooting issues on top of losing 15 pounds preseason. 3. sophmore gbinije (really a jr) still a year away. 4. dajuan was injured.(No Rak at PF) 5.Sr. Keita only averaged 2 points in 15 minutes.

1 year ago 1. jr cooney had some rough shooting percentages 2. sophmore roberson wasn't doing much, 3.soph BJ and 4. Patterson weren't doing much. 5. Ennis left by suprise (I will leave out Cmac and Grant returning it was their time to go). 6. dajuan injured. 7. McCullough injured.

This year 1. sophmore kjo 2. junior obokoh aren't ready for this level of ball yet, 3. sr cooney and 4. dajuan have had a few good points but they are pretty rare and fluxuate., 5. roberson is just beginning to find his offensive game freethrows have been really rough. 6. BJ and 7. Ron forced out by the scholorship reduction. 8. Gbinije went from shooting 52% from three before acc play to like 20% now he is taking it inside now though.

conclusion, Just a lot of dead weight we carried the last 3 years. This year we are alittle better then last in the dead weight department because we have 2 great freshmen options, however we still have alot of fluxuations in rebounding, center defense, three point shooting incosistant as is 3rd 4th options at times, we give up 50% from the field way to much, and don't force to many turnovers against teams with good paint soring. Sometimes we finish well at the rim others we don't, therefore we have a ton to work on and keep in our short term memory.
Its like the old adam sandler flaming brown bag on the doorstep. All the fluxations in players games the last couple of years are irritating.

New pod. Just sharing my thoughts on the current winning streak and the improvements being made. I touched on the Taurean Thompson situation towards the end. I've been watching a bunch of full games on a lot of recruits, so next week I'll do an all recruiting pod discussing my evaluations on the prospects from 2016-18.

If you're listening on iTunes. Don't forget to rate and review whenever you get the chance. It'll be much appreciated.:)

How we looking on your next one with the recruiting recap ?
Later this week. Decided to hold off since there is a nine day gap after the Va Tech game till the next one. So I figured it would be better to give the good people something to be entertained with during that span.

Spot on as always. Exactly what I thought about Naz. Seems to struggle (even though he has that skill) when he plays the euro big guy, stepping out on the perimeter. Got to get inside, young man! But unbelievable skill set once he is polished. Great update. Very in depth on the recruiting classes and thanks for the Pearl love and prayers.
