Ouch...

Please. In 3 years, if it even takes that long, this won't mean jack-squat to anyone but the most high-minded educational intellectuals...and eventually their impotent tsk-tsking will also, fade away over time. UNC is getting away with it, and the NCAA is complicit in watching it happen..

Probably true, but it will lead to a generation of jokes that every UNC grad will have to endure.

Someone needs to let Belle know that higher education isn't about education. It's all about $$$.

I don't disagree.

It's highly unlikely that they'd remove their accreditation - but understand - if they did, it wouldn't take long for the school itself to implode. And all current students credit wouldn't carry over on any transfer.

It's crazy - but it would be something to go from getting off with the NCAA to not existing.

Seriously doubt it would ever happen.
UNC is one of those institutions thats "too big to fail", they'd never let that accreditation removal go down.
At most, as others have suggested, they'll hear embarassing jokes at their expense, but that's about it.

Ho hum...nothing will happen. "Carolina blue is the past tense of Carolina sucks". :blah:

Nothing so far has suggested any harm at all to UNC. None in present or future. The only institution damaged in this scandal is the NCAA. This scandal made it clear to a broader audience exactly how corrupt the NCAA is.

The NCAA's handling of this matter will go down in history as the case that tipped the scale the other way and led to the NCAA's demise. It's going to still take some time but the foundation is cracking.

Agreed. Who they claim to be and what the schools need them to be is miles from what they actually are.
