Matthew Moyer

Looks like the jerami grant who will exceed the jerami grant

OK, don't stone me for saying this, but his tape reminds me (s0 far) of Terrence Roberts. He's got a nasty streak that others have mentioned, which is something more guys could use; people who enforce their will on a game, and make THE PLAY. Roberts never quite put it all together for us, but he was a warrior, and he had an outstanding senior year on a bum knee for us. He was a poor man's Kenyon Martin, and he could really finish on the break.

That team with Mookie Watkins and Demetris Nichols finally blossomed after Gerry's big shadow was gone, and I thought those guys did well, overall. I think it was all the injuries that hit them (and Josh Wright ...) that prevented them from ever getting into a groove, but that was a solid defensive team for us, probably our best in the 2000's until the AO 2010 team. With all the injuries, though, they just couldn't score consistently, apart from Nichols, who had a great senior year.

Anyway, back to our new young man, Doctor Matt - I mean my comparison to Roberts from when TRob was at St. Anthony's. A mobile lanky guy, with long reach. Athletic like Doctor Matt, good on the second bounce, defends with attitude, has that scowl-face that I like to see from my inside players. This is not just a finesse guy.

Our current man, Mr. Estonian Double-Double Machine, has that in him too and has to let it out more this year. You don't have to be quite so nice between the white lines.

Interesting take. I don't see Moyer as a TRob type. TRob was a poor rebounding center with no offensive skills and a bad basketball IQ.

This kid is a combo forward with dribbling, passing, shooting and finishing skills Terrence could only dream of.

He has great potential. If he works hard in the weight room, refines his promising jumper so he can shoot on the move and from the 3 point line, he will be at least as good as CJ. Could be better. Love guys with über high ceilings like him...

View attachment 20902 Jordoo, anymore gut feelings you'll like to share please.

Right now my gut feels like it wants a celebratory beer. I'll share any more gut feeling but I'm guessing that might be my one good call for this decade.

Even says he decided when he was at SU Wednesday. He's my new favorite player for making me look smart. :)

Big props to Jordoo who called it!! He oozes big time potential talent. I don't really see the Trob comparison either. He can put it on the floor already much better. He has some terrific footwork around the rim already. Huge get for SU!

The only reason imo he isn't ranked higher is that he is WAY out in suburban (hick) Columbus. I know the area being an OH resident. If he was on the east coast and on a power team from New Jersey he'd be way up there. Glad to nab him as he was starting to blow up with this latest AAU stint.

6-8 210 with two years to go? Yikes, deff agree with the tobias comparision...good to be orange

It really seems the move to the ACC has hampered recruiting, which our old big east friends thought would surely happen :bat:

Jordoo who do you got in race 7 at Fingelakes?
You know he's got that.

I can't wait to see this kid develop physically. He still looks like a kid. He has the potential to grow a few more inches and add much more muscle definition. He is already explosive with long arms. When he fills out, he will be a monster. I agree with posters that aren't fond of his outside shot. But, I am sure he will be working on that. He just needs to elevate his release point. What an incredible start to the 2016 class.
