Those are some interesting remarks from Floyd Little.

He remarks on the importance of hiring a coach who is really connected to the Syracuse community (a la Shafer) but he also acknowledges the importance of performance and that is has been lacking ('It can’t go any place but up'). This wasn't just Coyle making a decision with the approval of the BoT; it sounds like he had the support of one of the main faces of SU football.

It goes without saying (as I say it again) that both performance on the field and connecting with Syracuse are important.
I just wasn't expecting Floyd to be one of the proponents of changing the guard.
